The band's X&Y album was the best-selling album in the world last year, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). Coldplay's third album sold 8.3 million copies globally, according to a BBC News report. The second-best selling record of 2005 was Mariah Carey's The Emancipation Of Mimi with 7.7 million, and 50 Cent's The Massacre sold 7.5 million copies worldwide. Rounding out the top ten are the Black Eyed Peas with 6.8 million copies of Monkey Business, Green Day's American Idiot with 6.4 million sold, Confessions On A Dance Floor from Madonna with 6.3 million, Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway (6.1 million), Eminem's best-of disc Curtain Call (5.5 million), James Blunt's Back To Bedlam (5.5 million) and Robbie Williams with Intensive Care (5.4 million).
