Climbs to #9 today giving Calvin his 30th(!) Top 10 single

Calvin will be on Radio 2 all this week discussing and playing his 'Tracks of My Years', it'll go out every day just after 11:30am but if you can't wait the whole thing is in one episode available on BBC Sounds from tomorrow morning here.

Not sure it can do #1 now as that doesn't really have replay value.

Finally heard this track today as not been in a rush as not rrally a Sam Smith fan but loving this - that drop is unexpected and quite beautiful really. Probably too subtle to be as big as 'Miracle'

Not sounding like their John Martin collabs though...

I know the Official Dance chart is a bit meaningless (as it's basically dance singles in the official chart without ACR) but this track doesn't actually appear in it despite definitely belonging to that genre! :o

 

Any ideas why?

There's always something missing :lol: though very surprising it's Desire considering Miracle is still riding high. I don't think the OCC have ever directly addressed the genre/song choices for its specialist charts?

Inching forward just one more place this week up to #7. I don't think this has much potential to go further, but you'd be forgiven after Miracle for thinking this would do the same and go to #1. I'd like to hope it'll go Top 5 but there's a lot of strong competition ahead of it.

I’d like it to still go top 5. I easily prefer this to Miracle so it’s a bit of a shame it’s not done nearly as well but I guess they are quite similar sounding so maybe that’s why. It’ll be interesting to see if a 3 song in the same vein will do similarly

Has anyone pointed out how the opening lyric to this is like... jarringly near identical to 'Miracle'?

It does differentiate itself more later in the song but I wish it didn't because the parts that don't sound like 'Miracle' just sound like garbage. Oops

Still loving this! Shame another #1 is unlikely, but Miracle is very much still riding high so Desire’s doing well with that in mind. I do hope there’s a third trance track planned (similar to the One Kiss/Promises/Giant trilogy we got), but if he’s not in Ibiza to promote it then perhaps he won’t bother.
