July 6, 20232 yr I loved this when it was first released! It was certainly different for Kylie, I agree it wouldn't have worked as a proper single but - along with 'Timebomb' - it got me really excited for what Kylie's twelfth album would sound like. I still give it a spin now when I remember it exists. I do wonder about the background to 'Skirt'. It was unusual for Kylie to release a buzz single like this, was it just to test the water for exploring this sound further? It seemed to be pretty well received though so I'm not sure why they didn't keep it on the album if the idea was to see how fans responded to that sound. Just looking on Wikipedia, I see the instrumental of the track and the backing vocals already existed as 'Shake & Bake' and it was selected by Kylie and her team to develop it into a song with lyrics: e4S07sv4rbw
