Yeah and 3 tracks are made just for the soundtrack and don't feature at ALL, it seems! (FIFTY FIFTY, HAIM & The Kid LAROI) and 2 of the tracks which have big moments in the movie aren't even on the soundtrack (Ryan Gosling 'Push' & 'Closer To Fine')

 

I do hope Sam can sneak top 40 with 'The Man I Am' at some point or another (I know they won't). It's SOOOOO good and I'm not a Sam fan in the slightest!

The Laroi song wasn't even made for the movie specifically, he
back in Jan 2021...! Impressive for it to have shown up on Spotify at all considering.
Then why include it in the album? Labels and their shennanigans I guess

Haim is in the movie briefly, I can't remember exactly where but think it was in a car scene.

It’s actually a common occurrence (or has been in the past!) The Hunger Games and Twilight movies for example!

 

I didn’t know that about TKL song. It was definitely just Warner maximising some of their artists with this, which makes sense.

 

Also, I meant they’re not on the version of the album that first comes up if people were to search. I know they’re on the deluxe version but just annoyed why they're not on the main standard version when they play such a significant role in the movie.

Yeah a lot of movie soundtracks are billed as songs 'inspired by' the movies - it is a bit odd though that there's only a couple of songs on the soundtrack that aren't actually in the movie!

 

It is quite impressive LAROI charted his song despite it not appearing in the movie considering he's had several other releases recently that made no impact at all.

'Sprinter' is now only 1 day away from matching the Spotify #1 longevity of 'As It Was' - out of songs currently in the top 200 the only others that had more days at #1 are 'One Dance' (101 days) and 'Blinding Lights' (70 days, only 10 more than Harry so within range). Not sure how many other songs have had longer runs, I think 'Dance Monkey' is up there too at least.

You can sort kworb's daily totals (load warning? It's a very large list), it's alphabetised in a messy way but the info's there. "Dance Monkey" is 2nd with 81 days, then there's "rockstar" (77), "All I Want For Christmas Is You" (76), "God's Plan" (75) and "One Kiss" (73)

Obvz Mariah being up there makes sense, I guess she'll likely take the record maybe next year (barring anything else beating it first).

 

So 'Sprinter' has matched 'Shape Of You' today and, and will also be tying 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)' and 'Señorita' tomorrow.

It’s 149 on today’s spotify chart (on the 30th last year it wasn’t top 200, was like 187 on the 31st, and 28 on the 1st of August, I def think it’s outperforming that this year!)
