Chart entry week ending: 22/07/2006 Chart Run: 27-{5}-5-6-5-8-10-13-17-20->10

How is it so high with that chart run?

Do sales after its deleted count? Or did it just a sell a lot while it was top ten?

Jan 2006

The cool, calm and collected songstress returns with her second single 'Put Your Records On'. Taken from the highly anticipated self-titled album, Corinne displays just why she is heavily tipped for the top with her unique blend of sublime blues and laidback grooves.

Corrine Bailey Rae... another very very average artist
When I first heard this Corinne Bailey Rae song, I thought it was GABRIELLE!

Chart Run: 5-3-3-7-12-9-14-18-28-32-*

Girls Aloud – the only girlband to have conquered the critics and the country alike and successfully shake off the "Reality Tv" tag– are back with a new single 'Something Kinda Ooooh'. As you'd come to expect from Girls Aloud singles, it sounds like nothing else out there and after a couple of spins will take residence in your head as it's another 21st century pop classic. 'Something Kinda Ooooh' is taken from the Aloud's "best of" collection, 'The Sound Of Girls Aloud', which includes all their hits. - HMV

There was a better version of the tune by Automatic Baby which featured 2 members of U2 and R.E.M. and was aired during the first Clinton Inaguration in 1993.

How is it so high with that chart run?

Yes - sales do count after the track is deleted.

Confusingly, sales don't count if a track is released to legal Digital downloads before one week prior to the physical release of a single - which cost Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man over 50,000 sales.

Thankfully from tomorrow, all legal digital downloads count.

'Pump It' is the fourth track to be taken from the Black Eyed Peas fourth album, 'Monkey Business'. The single heavily samples the song Misirli, known by many for being featured in Quentin Tarantino's movie 'Pulp Fiction'. - HMV

One of the worst tune of 2006 in my opinion, probaly because of what they did to the Pulp Fiction song.

Good god, how dull can this chart show get?

Focusing on progressing as an artist, Rihanna releases 'Unfaithful' - the compelling track of heartbreak. Penned by her label-mate Ne-Yo and Stargate, the song documents the tragic decay of a relationship when another person starts cheating.

'Ain't No Other Man' marks the sexy upbeat return of pop's dirrtiest starlet, Christina Aguilera. Produced by DJ Premier and Charles Roane, 'Ain't No Other Man' is a modern take on vintage jazz, soul and blues from the 1920s, '30s and '40s, creating a wildly inventive sound that's gritty and raw, and is taken from her brand new album 'Back To Basics'. - HMV

I guess it's now a toss-up between her and Justin Timberlake as whose is the most talented among the mousketeers since now Britney Spears is acting more and more weirder by the day since 2005.
