06. Infernal - From Paris To Berlin

Chart Run: 34-4-3-4-3-2-3-4-6-6-7-9-15-19-24-27-27-36-45-55-61-72-73->23

Released on the same label that has just found Number 1 success with Meck's 'Thunder In My Heart', Infernal are made up of the luscious vocalist Lina Rafn and Nordic god, Paw Lagermann. The Danish pair discovered a shared passion for music and went on to conquer Scandinavia, with their first two albums achieving platinum and gold sales respectively. Now they are preparing to assault your ears with the finest europop in the name their single 'From Paris To Berlin', reminiscent of the pop/dance brilliance of the Vengaboys and the pure pop sensibilities of Aqua. - HMV

Chart Run: 15-2-1-2-2-3-4-6-5-8-11-11-13-22-27-31-34-48-57-63-58-66->22

The girl that webcast from her basement in Tooting to thousands of people across the globe now releases her debut single 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)'. The subsequent buzz saw her become the first high profile signing by Craig Logan as he steps into his position at the head of the newly re-launched RCA label. Following the success of artists like KT Tunstall, Sandi should do well with her fairly unique mix of powerful, rootsy, soulful vocals and sparse instrumentation, consisting of only percussion and drums. - HMV

Too bad she couldn't follow up the success of that record and got treated as a Alannis Morisette wannabe.

'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' marks the celebratory return of everyone's favourite camp-as-Christmas glam rocking Americans, Scissor Sisters. Having paraded their distinctive blend of pop, disco and 70s rock to the top of the charts with their eponymous debut album in 2004, Jake Shears, Ana Matronic and co. deliver the feverishly exhilarating 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing', with a little help from friend and idol Elton John, which is the first single to be taken from their new album, 'Ta-Dah'. -HMV

And the winner is... Leona!

The X Factor has yet again been the biggest TV story this year with viewing figures of over 10m every week. The contestants and judges have dominated our airwaves over the past few months with some of the UK's (and the World's!) brightest characters and biggest voices.

Released on the 20th December, 'A Moment Like This', a cover of Kelly Clarkson’s American Idol smash, is a fantastic offering for X Factor fans and makes a perfect Christmas stocking filler gift for all.

Last years winner Shayne Ward's debut single 'That's My Goal' raced straight to the coveted Christmas number 1 spot selling 750k copies in just 4 days and has now sold to date over 1 million copies. As soon as this years winner is revealed, CD manufacturers across the country will immediately push the button on the winner's single working through the night with couriers standing by to deliver the stock to all the stores nationwide for the Wednesday, December 20th deadline. - HMV

There are some unexpected changes in this line up! Have you got sales figures for these?

Wol.

Sales figures are still late because of the Xmas break, hopefully after Tuesday this week

They used to, they just changed the format of the Sunday chart show, as the week after Xmas there is hardly any new entries and chart movers

I've just looked at the chart and I wouldn't exactly call it static.

I've just looked at the chart and I wouldn't exactly call it static.

Yes, this year is an exception for that. Previously changes have been so little.

The positive effect of new christmas toys, mp3 players, +24 hours downloads etc now has on the chart the week after Xmas.

As Radio 1 did not do a proper countdown of this week's chart, I will post the video's of the three new entries in this week's chart:
