it'll probably make an appearance on Sunday but generally a lot less people seem to care for the Women's football than the Men's, I don't think the song made the Spotify chart in the Women's Euros until England won it either.

Are there any other notable songs that have sampled 'Walk On By'? I couldn't immediately think of any, and I checked on whosampled.com and don't recognise any of the other results that come up for it.

 

(I see there have been a few full covers of it that have charted but none this side of the millennium)

Such a shame 'Attention' didn't do this instead, really don't like it.

You keep saying this but I’m not sure how you expect it to happen that way round when Billie’s deteriorating on streaming and Dua’s more stable. If Dua gets it this week she should get it comfortably next week.

Happy to see Dua back at #2 but seriously Billies last minute fake casseroles will be more than enough to secure her #1.

 

Dua is just that unlucky competing with artists who have big fan base…first 5SOS and now Billie!!!

 

Yes, Dua has longevity but that’s because she relies in GP more than any other pop star in last 10 years!!!

Yeah, Dua has definitely kept her career at the top due to a seemingly neverending run of brilliant singles that catch on with casual listeners.

 

It is interesting to think of the size of her actual fanbase in comparison to other a-list popstars though. How quickly could she sell out a major UK arena tour if put on sale today I wonder? I guess it would be quite a big deal and sell nicely - probably sell out over time, but wouldn't be record shattering. I would snap up those tickets in a heartbeat, she deserves as big a fanbase as all the others.

I’ve not yet received my Billie cassette confirmation to say it’s been dispatched.

 

But I do hope that Billie gets the #1 this chart week as Dua (bar a major release at midnight) should be able to get the #1 next week.

 

I wonder how much stock Billie had? It’s been sold out and then restocked a few times but of Billie and Dua I’d say Dua has the bigger casual fanbase but Billie might have the bigger “stan” fanbase?

She is very much giving Katy Perry in this aspect, built up solid success with album 1, did a couple of collabs to keep her name out there, then smashed with a lengthy and killer 2nd album. No dominant fanbase but very radio friendly tracks which appeal to all ages.

 

What I think will keep her more relevant and her success going longer however, is her ability to branch into different ventures. She's got ad campaigns, fashion lines, an Instagram friendly look, feels very youthful, tying herself into acting with Barbie, even if just for a cameo. And if she can successfully experiment in the 3rd album whilst maintaining success, I think she's got it sealed because Katy ended up boxing herself very narrow with simple catchy pop songs and then as she moved away, the GP were a bit like ...hmm, not this. But, as long as Dua doesn't stay attached to a disco sound, then I think she has the ability to switch things up and maintain her status.

I'm really interested to see what Dua does next, FN is such a hard act to follow and I have seen so many acts in a similar position mess up at this point. I hope she doesn't!

If Dua has a decrease in streams, she’ll go to DCL-2 tomorrow and if she gets another decline in streams, she’s off to ACR so if that does happen. Billie can snatch it then even if she doesn’t snatch it next week
