Dua never released CD singles before. I don't know where people got that idea from (I would love it to happen though).

 

Cold Heart which had CD singles was promoted by Elton John's label.

I think because it's becoming a more commonplace thing, if at one point she was in contention for #1 or something I'm sure they could easily knock some up quickly.

I would really be interested in knowing how long does it take to produce a cd single

cos with vinyl singles it might take 6 months but with cd singles I take it's just a couple days?

£4.48 for a one track CD single? No thanks. I always wonder why record labels don't chuck an extra previously unreleased track on a one track CD single to make it a more desirable purchase. They're missing a trick there. #bringbackbsides

I would assume it was planned a while ago though. I think it's unlikely they'd be able to go from zero to putting CDs right on sale if the song had just suddenly become a #1 contender with no warning, that is more what I meant.

 

Anyway... meh, going to be a little annoyed if these CD sales make a difference and stop Billie from ever getting to #1. I do like 'Dance The Night' but the Billie song is soooo much better and it'll feel wrong for 'Dance The Night' to get to #1 when nothing from 'Future Nostalgia' got there. I guess Billie will still have another chance the following week either way.

 

(Though having said that I see Dua is ahead again on Spotify now so maybe she'd be overtaking regardless)

More whispering means less singing so it's not all bad.

As mentioned elsewhere, a 99p cassette (with free postage) of Billie’s song was up for preorder, but it’s already sold out. Curious about how many were printed and have been sold. We might not find out until Friday because the cassette’s release date is Thursday!
