Honestly out of top 40 is ok as well as it’s done it’s job : generated more publicity for herself and the album

The single will rebound on the album release week, at least.

I am talking about Monday midweek being out of top 40. Should hopefully be inside in the new chart on Friday

 

A bit all over the place on Amazon but finishes the weekend at 147th on Amazon Music

Gained around 1.3k videos on TikTok in the last 24h. Overall 7.8k videos. So far on that metric it is really on par with Padam, but it doesn’t convert to streams (yet).

When does it convert to streams?

It is such a moment seeing Kylie achieve another Top 20 hit with Tension.

When she grabs bigger playlists and moves up the ones she is already on.

A real positive that it’s being used on TikTok and growing however it’s really difficult to gauge TikTok impact - people need to be watching and engaging/sharing for it to start making waves.

We could see Tension go quietly for a few weeks during album promo then remixes etc released a week after album launch etc.

 

As much as PP strategy was excellent I do think they messed up a little by letting it go to ACR straight away. Those remixes could have been used a little more strategically.

 

Tension and Padam both sounding fresh this morning on my commute.

 

Cassettes for Tension should be posted today and probably added to Tyesday midweeks. Hoping for at least 1000 to be sold

I haven’t had a dispatch email yet but on my Kylie account it’s showing the cassettes as dispatched with a tracking number so they could be included in todays mids?

No time like the present, honestly. As Jay mentioned to me once; BMG are clearly not to most experienced with how to deal with singles success. They could have squeezed and higher peak out of Padam if they’d wanted to, too.

i feel they are trying to get the original song higher on playlists and on more playlists for the album launch before adding extra mixes/edits that will take away from the main total a little?

 

I do however definitely think an EP or edit will be out this Friday.

 

I think the biggest remix maybe should be released in week 9 or 10 to try and avoid ACR.

ACR won't matter because the song won't be near the top 40 at this point the way things are pointing.

That’s a shame tbh - I guess it just highlights that Tension hasn’t really connected with the GP despite some radio support etc.,

I am wondering if they are just letting it fall gradually on purpose so they put out the radio edit/feature EP on Friday as the dominant version instead?

i don't think they are clueless, BMG will know more about whats happening then us all. I think there will be a plan just not sure. what it is

 

i think they may go all out on album release week for Tension and PP to both be top 40 too.
