Wow - didn’t realise this sampled ‘Cheating On Me’ by Kwabs. This is massively average but the original song is beautiful.

Biography

UK singer, songwriter, and producer Kenya Grace has unveiled her new single, “Strangers” today. The track notably marks her debut for Warner Records’ flagship dance label Major Recordings. On the track, vibey synths wrap around an addictive drum ‘n’ bass core. At the same time, she layers evocative vocals over this propulsive backdrop. Her gentle delivery barely cracks a whisper as she captures the outpour of emotion at the end of a relationship. It culminates on a disarmingly catchy chorus as she sings, “Then one random night when everything changes, you won’t reply and we’ll go back to strangers.” Stay tuned for the premiere of a cinematic music video to accompany the song. Earlier this year, Kenya lit up streaming platforms with “Meteor.” Thus far, it has generated north of 4 million streams and 250K YouTube views. Earning acclaim, STEREOFOX raved, “There’s no stopping the beautiful energy it carries.” At the same time, her fan base continues to rapidly expand. She regularly pulls the curtain back on her process with intriguing social media posts. She frequently showcases her production and vocal skills with live performance videos. As a result, her cumulative following is just shy of 1 million. Plus, Soundcloud christened her an “Ascending Artist.” - Prelude Press

Strangers is great, I stumbled across it on New Music Friday and thought it was a bop (and like multiple others probably, was considering sending it to BJSC), and was shocked to see it chart so well on Spotify the next day! Would be here for this being a big hit
oh love love love this one <3 <3 <3
Royal Blood are those twats that stormed off stage at the Big Weekend, aren't they?

Yes 🙃

Love this Kenya Grace song, always nice to see a surprise in the charts, especially when it's actually decent.

been listening to this a lot, including the 1-hour loop on Youtube :D

So Royal Blood say thanks to Radio 1 in their support in their career, yet they walked out of their Big Weekend performance.

Biography

Australia’s biggest pop icon is a master of shape-shifting, with a silvery voice that adapts to spunky novelty dance tracks as well as sleek synth-pop and a theatrical bent that turns her live shows into spectacles. Born in Melbourne in 1968, Kylie Minogue got her start in acting, debuting on the soap opera Neighbours in her teen years and almost immediately becoming one of the nation’s most beloved television actors. A benefit performance led to the release of her first single, a cover of Little Eva’s “The Loco-Motion,” in 1987; it became a hit in Australia, and her 1988 re-recording of it, helmed by the superproducer team Stock Aitken Waterman, was a worldwide smash. The new version was included on her 1988 debut, Kylie, a collection of frothy pop highlighted by the sparkling “I Should Be So Lucky.” Minogue continued her relationship with SAW until the 1993 release of Kylie Minogue, which was recorded with club-oriented producers including M People and Brothers In Rhythm. Her aesthetic matured during the ’90s, both in her solo work and on the Nick Cave duet “Where the Wild Roses Grow.” In 2001, the slick “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” blew up in clubs and on the radio, and its accompanying album, Fever, featuring the buoyant “Love At First Sight” and the sinuous “Come Into My World,” re-established Minogue as a pop force. She later worked with pop gurus like Stuart Price and Greg Kurstin on tracks such as the sumptuous “All the Lovers” and the peppy “Wow,” flirted with country and disco, indulged her art-house side in films like Holy Motors, and embarked on ambitious tours that showcased her flair for the dramatic—and her long-honed ability to captivate audiences. - Apple Music
