Ben Stokes is likely to remain on the sidelines for England's World Cup match against Bangladesh on Tuesday.

Stokes, 32, missed England's heavy defeat by New Zealand in the tournament opener on Thursday with a hip injury.

He had a gentle net - his first for 10 days because of the injury - and did some light running during training in Dharamshala on Sunday.

But he still looked uncomfortable and the poor outfield at the ground will also be a factor in any decision.

New Zealand continued their perfect start to the Men's Cricket World Cup with a dominant 99-run win over the Netherlands in Hyderabad.

After being put in, the Kiwis made 322-7 with opener Will Young, Tom Latham and Rachin Ravindra all making fifties.

The Netherlands, who have lost their opening two games, were always behind the rate and lost regular wickets.

Colin Ackermann made 69 but they were bowled out for 223 in 46.3 overs, with Mitchell Santner taking 5-59.

New Zealand, who thrashed England in their opening game of the tournament, face Bangladesh on Friday at 09:30 BST, while the Netherlands play South Africa at the same time on 17 October.

That was much better from England today. Replacing Moeen Ali with Reece Topley was a good decision.

No rain so far after there was so much of it in the warm up matches. Hopefully, the monsoon season is coming to an end.

England responded to defeat in their World Cup opener by comprehensively beating Bangladesh by 137 runs in Dharamsala.

After last week's heavy nine-wicket loss to New Zealand, Dawid Malan's superb 140 from 107 balls formed the basis of a much-improved England's 364-9.

Malan put on 115 for the first wicket with Jonny Bairstow and 151 from just 117 balls with Joe Root, who made a typically composed 82 from 68.

Root and Malan took the score to 266-1 in the 38th over but the loss of eight wickets for 96 runs meant England failed to take full advantage.

Captain Rohit Sharma's scintillating century sprinted India to an emphatic eight-wicket World Cup defeat of Afghanistan in Delhi.

Rohit crunched a sparkling 131 from 84 balls before India reached their target of 273 with 15 overs to spare.

Hashmatullah Shahidi made 80 to put Afghanistan on course for a more challenging target, but Jasprit Bumrah's 4-39 had them end on 272-8.

It is a second defeat in two games for Afghanistan, while India have two wins.

The hosts join New Zealand and Pakistan in having a perfect record after two games and now play their fierce rivals Pakistan in the most anticipated match of the tournament in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

India demolished Pakistan as the most eagerly awaited contest of the World Cup so far turned into a one-sided anti-climax in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan have never beaten India in a men's 50-over World Cup, but looked to be laying a platform to challenge the hosts when they reached 155-2 in the cauldron of the world's largest cricket stadium.

What followed was an implosion. Captain Babar Azam was bowled by Mohammed Siraj for 50 to begin a collapse of eight wickets for 36 runs, Pakistan spiralling to 191 all out. Siraj was one of five India bowlers to pick up two wickets.

India are looking like the most likely winners at the moment.

Meanwhile, the Argentina women's team scored 427-1 in a T20 match against Chile, which is more than 100 runs more than the record for any men's or women's match. Looking at the scorecard, I see they didn't even hit a six, just the 57 fours. One of the Chile bowlers bowled one over for 52 runs, including 17 no balls. How can anyone bowl 17 no balls in one over? There were a total of 64 no balls across the 20 overs. Chile were bowled out for 63 in reply.

South Africa's unbeaten run in the World Cup was ended by a shock 38-run defeat by the Netherlands in Dharamsala.

In a match reduced to 43 overs a side by rain, the Proteas' bowling effort unravelled after a dominant start, allowing the Dutch to post 245-8.

Captain Scott Edwards' unbeaten 78 led a remarkable recovery from 82-5.

In reply, Temba Bavuma's side slipped from 36-0 to 44-4 and were eventually bundled out for 207 in the last over.

It is the Netherlands' first win of the tournament, and the first time they have beaten a Test-playing nation at a 50-over World Cup.

While the South African batting effort was disappointing

New Zealand continued their winning run in the World Cup with a thumping 149-run win over Afghanistan in Chennai.

The Black Caps slipped from 109-1 to 110-4 but were revived by a stand of 144 between Glenn Phillips, who made 71, and captain Tom Latham's 68.

Both were dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq in the 48th over before Mark Chapman's 12-ball 25 propelled New Zealand to 288-9.

The bowlers then completed a clinical performance as Afghanistan were all out for 139 in reply.

Afghanistan were left to rue a sloppy fielding performance that saw them drop five straightforward catches and miss a stumping, with opener Will Young dropped on one before going on to make a half-century.

Afghanistan beat Pakistan for the first time in one-day cricket by pulling off their highest successful chase in the format in a World Cup thriller.

Ibrahim Zadran made 87, Rahmanullah Gurbaz smacked 65 and Rahmat Shah struck an unbeaten 77 as Afghanistan reached their target of 283 with eight wickets and six balls to spare.

Afghanistan are up to sixth, leaving holders England bottom of the table.

Captain Babar Azam earlier made 74 as Pakistan posted 282-7 in Chennai.

Teenage spinner Noor Ahmad was the pick of the Afghanistan bowlers, taking 3-49.

It is Afghanistan's first win over Pakistan in ODIs at the eighth attempt, with their total of 286-2 seeing them eclipse their previous record successful chase of 276-8 when set 274 to beat United Arab Emirates in 2014.

Quinton de Kock hit a stunning 174 as South Africa trounced Bangladesh by 149 runs on the back of another blistering batting display in Mumbai.

De Kock's century, his third of this World Cup and the highest score of the tournament so far, set the Proteas on their way to a commanding 382-5.

Heinrich Klaasen backed up his century against England with a similarly destructive 90 from 49 balls.

In reply, Bangladesh were 233 all out, despite Mahmudullah's defiant century.

Big game coming up for Australia today, a win would really help consolidate a top 4 place after a shaky start to the tournament.

What an extraordinary match today with Australia recovering from 91-7 to chase down a target of 292 against Afghanistan. Glenn Maxwell's 201 not out has to be the greatest innings by one batsman ever in 50 over matches, surely?

Ben Stokes hit a superb century as England boosted their beleaguered World Cup campaign with a 160-run victory over the Netherlands in Pune.

The defending champions' hopes of progressing were already over but the result does improve their chances of qualifying for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Stokes hit 108 from 84 balls, his fifth one-day international century but first at a World Cup, to rescue England's batting line-up from more misery and drag them to 339-9.

New Zealand all but sealed a World Cup semi-final spot with an easy five-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Bengaluru.

Sri Lanka, who were already eliminated, were bowled out for 171, with Black Caps seamer Trent Boult taking 3-36.

In a chaotic start, they slumped to 70-5 in 9.3 overs, with opener Kusal Perera smashing 51 from 28 balls.

England ended their World Cup campaign with a commanding consolation victory over Pakistan in Kolkata.

With their hopes of reaching the semi-finals long gone, the defending champions put in their best performance with the bat throughout their time in India by scoring 337-9.

Ben Stokes top-scored again with 84, sharing a stand of 132 in 131 balls with Joe Root, who made 60.

Openers Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan scored 59 and 31 respectively, while Jos Buttler's 27 and Harry Brook's 30 also boosted the score.

Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul hit centuries as India made it nine wins from nine group-stage games with a 160-run victory over over the Netherlands.

After the top three all scored fifties, Shreyas and Rahul put on 208 in Bengaluru to take India to their second highest World Cup total, 410-4.

Shreyas ended unbeaten on 128, while Rahul's 62-ball ton is the hosts' fastest at a World Cup.

In reply, the Netherlands started well but fell away to be bowled out for 250.
