^you can be sensitive to an issue and not cause a victim mentality like she did. It was a complete over reaction and childish mentality to behave how she did. Fair enough if she’s taken offence, but there’s a way to manage the conflict rather than how she did.
Like I said before she definitely could of have handled the situation better but she’s obviously still hurting . Grief sometimes makes you act out irrationality in certain situations. From what I’ve seen her dad dying is still quite recent and they were very close, she has also lost her mum . Hopefully her and Fred have another conversation and clear things up the right way .

I thought once you shouted I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here you don't win any stars that you earned already??
I think it has always been the case that you just don't win any more.

You only don't win any stars if you don't get them in your bag or decide not to do the trial at all.

I hope they can clear it up, because I think it was completely unfair to take it out on Fred like she did.

Yep, Anne here in 2018 shouted "I'm a Celebrity" and her stars still counted.

(I can't believe that series with Harry Redknapp, Noel, Fleur East, John Barrowman etc was 5 years ago now!)

I don’t think Fred meant any harm but Nella is still obviously very sensitive about her Dad dying and losing both parents. It was just a misunderstanding and I think people should give her some grace . YES she definitely could of handled the situation better but I feel like people especially a certain demographic have been WAITING for her to slip up since the show started so they could have an excuse to hate her .

I also think it’s rather nasty a big company like boohoo to be dog piling and spreading more hate towards her .

In case you were trying to include me in that accusation I haven’t set eyes on a Nella before the show and she seemed like good craic in the first episode but I didn’t like her reaction to Fred. That’s all it’s nothing to do with anything else!

Oh no I wasn’t referring to anyone on here at all , I was talking about people on other social media platforms .

So... I caved in and decided to watch (in fact all the eps this evening)

Nella was grating and irritating pre her Fred run-in. Both her trials were just airitime grabbing and then her attitude towards Fred is just :melb: Not a fan at all.

Jamie-Lynn doing the trial and not really giving that much a fcuk about any of it was amusing :D

Overall though, it feels a bit more fractured than normal - like things could kick off at any moment.

Farage... is Farage. Its funny though that he was obviously expecting to be voted every time and get loads of airtime... and he hasn't, in fact he hasn't even been that big a personality in there.

Yeah, I'm surprised really how quiet Farage has been. I must have missed this bit, but apparently he said that he wants to do the trials for the airtime?

Yeah he said it when Nella got her 2nd trial. He said the people who get the trials get the most airtime and that's what he wanted

Love Nella again tonight after calling out Nigel ❤️

Less "calling out", more yelling over and interrupting him constantly while he tries to genuinely discuss the point with her. She looked like and sounded like a petulant child, just like she did in her spat with Fred.

He probably should have reacted more during the first one then

Frankie Dettori & Tony Bellew are both confirmed now, no surprises there.

It'll be interesting to see if the ratings rise tomorrow, I've seen the Nella/Fred stuff on TikTok quite a lot in the last day. Although I suppose those users are more likely to watch it on ITVX!

👍

This is why I find this show offputting, it sounds silly but it kind of symbolises the institutional racism in this country. Not seen the show obviously so I don’t know the full shebang but the way that brands/institutions/publications are inciting hate for a black woman who already is going to have a hard time with the demographics of Facebook mums and “live laugh love, can’t wait for the Coca Cola Van, wish the Chinese had a drive through” huns is vile. I’m trying to just block out the show, I’ve muted the hashtag on Twitter but I’m still seeing so much about it and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Surely it’s easy, like people have on here, for her actions to be criticised without clearly being a race issue.

I don’t care to know what she did or the specifics, from what I’ve seen she overreacted, but I think it’s beyond disgusting that there is a pile on for a young black woman with brands and the media joining in. Fair enough viewers dislike watching her, I might too watching, but there is just no need for brands and media to incite hatred, although you can’t expect anything better from the Daily Mail. Only on this show could Jamie Lynn Spears and Nigel Farage be on and the villain is a black woman who overreacted to something….

She did overreact quite badly... and is still carrying it on by refusing to talk to Fred, eat anything he has prepared and generally keeping away from him and not acknowledging him. Which I don't think is helping things at all - as she is basically continuing to carry it on, even after he has apologised (several times). That isn't a justification of the awful Facebook/ Twitter Karen's who probably adore Farage as well.

What's funny though is that the initial comment from Fred didn't even make the edit as he basically meant he was old enough to be her Dad and said it as a throwaway comment. She just went from 0 to 100 on him though and seemingly out of the blue.

Yeah that’s what I mean, from what I have seen and read she is being horrible, but if someone is that bad there is surely plenty to criticise without resorting to the racist dogwhistle “chip on her shoulder”! Audiences like this just can’t have the nuance or tact for that and it spirals out of control quite quickly. I know it happens with basically every reality show, but it’s 2023 and I’m sick of it happening to women of colour…
