Hmmm I didn't watch and I know a fair few others said they weren't going to due to Farage... but usually when someone like Farage are on shows, other people tune in and it ends up being more.

 

So a drop of 2.2m is surprising. Maybe Farage is a bigger turn off than first thought

I think the show has more than run its course - I've never loved it but I've tolerated it as Mr D* is a fan. This year not even that is enough to make me watch as I can't face having to sit through the same crap again every night for the next few weeks - add in Nigel Farage and I'm definitely not going to watch.

I HOPE it's the Farage backlash that's caused the drastic drop in ratings. The way I cringed when it was referenced more than once that "everyone was talking" about the show/Nigel. Rancid.

It's a very similar drop as episode 1 to episode 2 last year, so not really unexpected.

The fact it's still able to rope in 6m viewers just tells you the lofty standards it has set previously. Victim of its own success!
