November 23, 20231 yr She did overreact quite badly... and is still carrying it on by refusing to talk to Fred, eat anything he has prepared and generally keeping away from him and not acknowledging him. Which I don't think is helping things at all - as she is basically continuing to carry it on, even after he has apologised (several times). That isn't a justification of the awful Facebook/ Twitter Karen's who probably adore Farage as well. What's funny though is that the initial comment from Fred didn't even make the edit as he basically meant he was old enough to be her Dad and said it as a throwaway comment. She just went from 0 to 100 on him though and seemingly out of the blue. No one is saying she didn’t overreact but to drag it out like this and to give it THIS MUCH attention when far worse situations have happened not only on this show but other reality tv shows in the past is very extreme . Especially how quickly as well it’s not even been 48 hours since that episode aired and they had people ready to interview members of the public on the street about it with quickness the next day! It all just feels rather unnecessary and a gang up at this point .

November 23, 20231 yr I don’t do social media at all so don’t see the things others may do and agree with your point about institutional rascism but the situation with Nella and the reaction (on here anyway) is solely based on character and not race or gender.
November 23, 20231 yr That Nella / Fred situation is one where I’m so glad it showed that actual comment what wasn’t in the edit from the previous night. She’s even posted the same saying on her own socials before talking about Tim Westwood so she’s definitely aware of it. She’s definitely went in there with the aim of having a love of Huns esque viral moment and it’s went about as opposite as she’d have liked. @1154087936197111815
November 23, 20231 yr I honestly couldn't give two shits if this was an argument between two people I KNOW, let alone two rich celebrities  It's not news and doesn't need street interviews, or deserve so much press attention.

To describe whoever this is as a "celebrity" is stretching the definition of the word beyond all linguistic precedent.
November 23, 20231 yr Have they said who the extra celebrities are this year? I always look forward to the late additions coming in to really ruffle some feathers
November 23, 20231 yr It's disappointing but not surprising to see certain brands and accounts taking the chance to kick a black woman when she's down. I didn't enjoy the way Nella spoke to Fred, but it feels like some have been waiting for any chance to hate on her and are relishing it. For me, Nella was far more enjoyable in last night's episode once again, full respect to anyone who calls Farage out. Sadly, this isn't a problem that's exclusive to I'm a Celebrity. We see it year in, year out on Strictly where the talented black dancer is vilified for having "past experience" or being "unlikeable". We saw it on Big Brother when the Facebook mums voted Trish out. We see it beyond reality TV in our lives every day I'm sure. Sadly the nature of reality TV is that it does reflect people's attitudes, and it's disgusting to see people's misogynoir attitudes on full display. The impact of the Facebook mums isn't just seen on this show depressingly.

It’s very much based on race and gender tbh (not on here) but I’m not going to go too much in to it . I’m glad Nella and Fred seemed to be on good terms this episode . Hopefully the viewers can now MOVE ON from this ! @1727812333278314981 Edited November 24, 20231 yr by troylovesmusic
November 23, 20231 yr Author I know it was out of a smaller group, but it was great to see Grace get voted! Not because I dislike her, it’ll just be good to see her do a trial

November 25, 20231 yr Author I like Marvin, but bar the challenge yesterday I keep forgetting he’s there! I can see him being one of the first 3-4 out.
November 25, 20231 yr This is so unnecessary, The British media love to go overboard and take things too far ! :mellow:I shouldn't give them attention but yes, that is very weird.
November 25, 20231 yr Yeah that’s what I mean, from what I have seen and read she is being horrible, but if someone is that bad there is surely plenty to criticise without resorting to the racist dogwhistle “chip on her shoulder”! Audiences like this just can’t have the nuance or tact for that and it spirals out of control quite quickly. I know it happens with basically every reality show, but it’s 2023 and I’m sick of it happening to women of colour…There's next to no nuance on social media sadly, and if you even try and show it you'll get piled on too.
November 25, 20231 yr I like Marvin, but bar the challenge yesterday I keep forgetting he’s there! I can see him being one of the first 3-4 out. I think he’s come across well. We’ve seen in past series the ex boyband member can do very well Matt Willis, Dougie being winners despite not being huge characters and George Shelley as well made it to second. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t in the top 5 personally.

I’d be surprised if he wasn’t in the top 5 personally. Yeah, I think he'll come around 5th. EARLY TOP 5 PREDICTION 1st. Danielle 2nd. Josie 3rd. Sam 4th. Fred 5th. Marvin I think Nigel could take either Fred of Marvin's place but I think that top 3 is pretty much on lock.

Initially did think Nigel might’ve done similarly to Hancock but he’s not had quite as much airtime as of yet.
November 27, 20231 yr Danielle, Josie and Sam look a clear top 3 unless something dramatic happens. I'd be happy with a Danielle or Josie win.
November 27, 20231 yr Apparently Grace has quit on Medical Grounds https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/24865480/grace-...edical-grounds/
