People are starting Christmas waaay too early, so they burn out on it, and the weather is mild af across Eurppe. Great vs our war prep against Putin, but bad for Xmss music streams.

Wonder if this will affect how streams over Christmas itself compare to the last few years. You'd expect the weekly streams to be higher this year as 22-25 Dec all falls within the same chart week, but maybe the daily streams won't be quite as off the scale as we've been used to.

 

I wouldn't have thought so tbh.

 

Although they're down from the start of the month, Wham! and Mariah are still over 100k up on what they did on the equivalent Sunday last year.

Yet again surprisingly low streams for Christmas songs on Spotify today with Wham! only doing 732k and Noah back up to #4 (would be #1 comfortably with ACR applied)

I’m not sure I agree the weather makes much of a difference it’s not like people listen to Let It Snow in February when we get our annual blizzard and the wet and windy weather would surely just make people feel miserable because it probably ‘feels’ colder in those conditions compared to the calmer colder conditions!
