For once Mercedes pace in practice not being a false dawn! Lewis will be absolutely kicking himself about quali as that was an open goal for a win this weekend.

What the hell happened to McLaren? Shocking pace all weekend. Max could just cruise to the title in the end.

Constructor's looking very exciting now. If McLaren perform like that at the final 2 races Ferrari have got this in the bag. And a very interesting battle for 6th also between Haas, Alpine and RB. Can't call that at all.

but the next race is in a Mclaren-favored circuite isnt it?
No idea, seems very random and inconsistent what tracks they do well at. Thought Vegas would have suited them as it's like Baku but apparently not.

The McLaren excels best a medium-high downforce circuits with long sweeping 'medium-fast' corners and the cars prefer higher temperatures generally. Hence, Vegas, with it's very long straights and super low temps was a nightmare for them. Circuits like Barcelona, Zandvoort, Brazil, Silverstone really suit them.

They actually found the right setup for their final stint on hards where both drivers posted competitive times.

Qatar should be better for them, the heat will help (and Mercedes will enjoy less of a boost because of it) but it also has a lot of slow corners in S2 which won't be ideal, but there are enough of the right type of corners that they should comfortably find a setup to put them at or near the front again.

Losail is also a circuit that doesn't suit the Ferrari so they may be on the back foot from the off.

I'd punt at the two McLaren's on the front row, possibly split by Max who'll be 3rd otherwise. Leclerc to line up 4th. Mercs up next if the heat doesn't kill them too hard. Plus it's a Sprint so nobody will have much time to explore setup options.

(Watch this prediction go spectacularly wrong now!)

Three drivers have won the world title in Vegas - Piquet in 1981, Rosberg in 1982 and Verstappen in 2024. All three finished P5 on the day.

Leclerq is really the biggest crybaby in the history of F1 ,well, together with Hamilton!! was embarrassing hearing him on the radio last weekend complaining

about Carlos like a little girl

it's gonna be funny having the 2 crybabies on Ferrari next year, they better buy some kleenex :D

Apparently, if you spell Andretti as C-a-d-i-l-l-a-c all opposition to entering Formula One goes away just like that.

I assumed Vegas had a 10-year contract or something considering F1 were that desperate to have a race there.

Netherlands against going anywhere as long as Max is winning races.

I guess Cadillac will only have US drivers :/
How is there still no news of the final 2025 seat?
I guess Cadillac will only have US drivers :/

They immediately stated the Colton Herta was in consideration, which does make some sense but have added nothing about the second seat. I wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari may well have a say in things though.

Qatar

Providing Fernando Alonso takes the start on Sunday it will be his 400th GP.

He will then have competed in 35% of all World Championship Grand Prix (36% if you exclude the Indy 500s run in 1950-60).

McLaren can clinch their first Constructors title since 1998 but they will need a 1-2 in the Sprint and the GP, plus the Flap to win it regardless of what Ferrari do.

In a new low for Checo he gets passed on the pit lane exit

That ending has shades of USA 2002.

oh my when you thought a new low for Perez was impossible :D

nice gesture there from Norris letting Piastri win

Yeah great gesture after all Piastri done to help him throughout the season

not sure whether someone like Hamilton or Leclerq would do it
