Yes. I hope so too and I expect this is just the beginning. 🙏🏽

She should sent it to US Pop radios o

That's a long shot. I'm not sure how the metrics are in the US right now, but everything needs to align to make this to happen.

THIS!

It’s one of her best songs for me, definitely my favourite on the album

All I know is that it never got sent to US radios because Houdini was still smashing 6 months later, and they just jumped from Houdini to illusions and the era was over in the US!!! cheeseblock

I'm kind of sure you're confusing "Training Season" with "Physical" because the former was indeed sent and promoted as a single in the States, while the latter wasn't.

I mean, going back to 2024, the release of "Training Season" was a (little) mess because she performed the track in a medley with "Dance the Night" and "Houdini" at the GRAMMYs on February 4, but they opted to wait two weeks (February 15) to release the song instead of doing an OA/OS release that day or release on February 2.

Either way, after the GRAMMYs performance, "Houdini" had a little surge or a soft second wind which made Warner to keep promoting the track in the US. However, "Training Season" began to have some traction, so they were conflicted what to do and they finally gave the track an impact date of March 5 (three weeks after its release).

On the other hand, it's true that they jumped really fast to "Illusion", lol! 😆 The track was available on April 11 and it went for adds immediately upon its release, which means that its adds date was on April 16.

The main issue, I think, was that Warner couldn't handle to have two (even, three) "active" songs of the same artist at the same time and this is something I personally question a lot. I'm aware that the typical thing to do is to promote only a song from an artist, but there are cases (especially from Republic) where they can easily have two, even three, songs from the same artist to be promoted simultaneously without affecting each other.

FYI, my point isn't Dua should change labels, but I think that "to kill a song to promote a new one" is an outdated technique and this is exactly what happened to "Training Season" two years ago.

This feels too fresh to me to be getting some kind of throwback revival 😂

Not mad though! As a Spotify playlist connoisseur, I very often finish a gym workout playlist within Training Season at the end and smile each time as if I’m the only person to ever make such a joke x

I definitely didn't confuse it with the Physical release, however, I could swear this was also brushed under the carpet in 2024 o, as I don't remember ever making an impact on US radios!!!

Just happy it's getting the love it deserves wub

I get what you're saying here and I understand it.

I'm not sure whether this was a good thing or not (I guess it depends from the perspective from each one), but one of them that I highlight Warner during the radio promotion of the album was that they pushed hard on Dua's songs in their runs. They also acted very fast. If they saw one thing wasn't clicking, they moved on.

That said, I'm not too sure what were Warner's (initial?) plans regarding Dua's radio singles in the US, but there's a chance that they wanted to replicate the "Don't Start Now", "Physical" and "Break My Heart" formula with "Houdini", "Training Season" and "Illusion", respectively. However, the major difference was that "Don't Start Now" had multiple performances, while "Houdini" didn't and the latter was also stalling in the different metrics if I remember correctly. Meanwhile, "Don't Start Now" was having success (and kept doing so) in early 2020, plus it had longevity, so skipping "Physical" in the US was the right thing to do at that time.

Although, based of what I mentioned in my previous post, I still stand that this radio technique is old-fashioned.

Added to Spotify's Viral Hits playlist. The track is currently atop in that playlist, which has more than 8.2 million listeners (saves).

cheeseblock

I haven't even see a video on TikTok with "Training Season". I'm guessing my FYP doesn't show that side of TikTok.
