A pixelated version has been posted of Yearbook ‘77 on the Now Collectors Group but from what I can make out ABBA are not on it, I really thought Waterloo missing ‘74 was a one-off for the 50th Anniversary :o

They’ll regret not putting these out sooner when they had the license.

Wow! There's a lot of great stuff on NOW 120! Immediate thoughts: Tracks 1-7 being songs by the Pop Girls! Iconic! Brilliant! It's what we deserve! APT. is here! That follows "Gangam Style", "Gentle

And shame the release dates of the 1985 and 1987 yearbooks weren’t switched around as Bruce Springsteen and U2 could’ve appeared on 1985 and 1987, respectively

One of the most unique NOWs released during its originally EMI era, and one I really do love! R&B was having such a great Dance/Pop cross over, and things like "Massive R&B" were doing big numbers in the compilation charts - so I guess NOW quickly jumped on the band wagon.

Faves for me are:
Rihanna - Cheers (Drink To That)
Dev - In The Dark
Kelly Rowland feat Lil' Wayne - Motivation
Nicole Scherzinger - Wet
Jennifer Lopez feat. Lil Wayne - I'm Into You
Rizzle Kicks - Down With the Trumpets
Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
Keri Hilson - Pretty Girl Rock
Duchess - All The Boyz

The only thing missing is Run The World (Girls)/Best Thing I Never Had by Beyoncé. This was the the time you could license her sometimes - and I was a little sad when neither appeared on 79 or 80.
I wonder if this was them trying to create a new running series like "NOW Dance". Would've been a good series in my opinion.

We've had something old, now here's something new!

NOW Yearbook - 1977 is out November 1st.

Sadly ABBA still are a no-go

Disc 3 is wall-to-wall bangers! It's leagues above the other discs for sure.

Strangely The Stranglers have 2 songs on Disc 2. Odd, but hey-ho.

Now let's get another 90s one on the go!

I hope the next 90s yearbook is either 1991 or 1995 and I expect next years yearbooks to go in these patterns; 90s, 70s, 90s, 70s and 1989
For some reason the compilers can't licence Abba at present. Should have Knowing Me Knowing You and Name Of The Game On It. Maybe because of the forthcoming compilation The First 50 Years.

Bold = Also on NOW 58/59

Are we allowed to post about the rivals? Is this a safe space for them?
- There are some amazing songs I wished made NOW 59, like "Dumb", "My Happy Ending", "Don't Leave Home", and "Never Felt Like This Before".
- UK Number 1's included are: "These Words", "Real To Me", "Burn", "Everytime", and "F*** It (I Don't Want You Back)".

Which songs are your faves? And which ones would you like to have seen on NOW 59.
Next edition of Now Christmas is due for release on 1st November. Seen it on the Now collectors page on Facebook. It’s basically songs from the 2022 edition reshuffled. They should at least release it on the 8th November instead of having it clash with Now Yearbook 1977
The Hits series could sometimes be better than the Now one-not often but it was possibly. My sister bagged herself Now 54 in April 2003 and I decided to opt for Hits 55 at the time instead-it was a really good tracklist!

This Love by Maroon 5 should’ve been on Now 58 instead of Hits 59 as they were signed to Interscope where their songs normally appeared on the Now series

Has a couple that are rarely on Xmas compilations. Dana and The Wombles. No Queen and was a big Xmas song.

No Queen because they wanna include Wham! instead. Best way to include both Freddie and George on the same compilation is to have Freddie open disc 1 and George open disc 2

I think that's my favourite Hits album, or certainly up there. And for me it was better than the equivalent Now. Some very big hitters that Now couldn't get, like Christina Aguilera, Kelly Rowland, P!nk, Delta Goodrem, Gareth Gates (not that I cared much for the song), Avril Lavigne, J.Lo, Dannii Minogue, the list goes on...

Hits 58 posted above does give me some college memories, bang in the middle for me. It had some good tracks - Now would get These Words later on but didn't have Single or even Unwritten until its recent resurgence - and The Corrs, Faithless, Will Young and Avril were all good as well as some of the dance picks. I don't know if that Candice song was cancelled or just didn't chart, it's funny because I saw a write-up about that song recently and I was surprised I remembered it so vividly, and now I know it's because I remember hearing it on this album.

I think Queen and George's labels or estate or whatever both insist on Disc 1, Track 1, so they can't have both, they have one or the other.

Now Yearbook 1987 was interesting in that George and Aretha opened Disc 2, but only because George had already opened Disc 1. I doubt in any other circumstance that would happen.

George did open disc 2 of Now 1993-2003 without opening disc 1 and as Now sometimes like to change the release date of their spin-offs, they should postpone Now Christmas for another week to avoid clashing with Now Yearbook 1977 and I hope that Now Yearbook 1977 beats Now Christmas to the top of the compilation chart and that the latter flops

This Love by Maroon 5 should’ve been on Now 58 instead of Hits 59 as they were signed to Interscope where their songs normally appeared on the Now series

I think Maroon 5's first set of releases were BMG releases, until they moved over to Universal (where they also brought the rights to the debut album).

Regarding the "new" NOW Christmas album: It's nice to see Cher! It's turned into one of my favourite Christmas tracks, but I need Britney's "My Only Wish"! It's the 2nd best Xmas single imo.

Harder To Breathe and This Love we’re both released under the Octone label which was owned by Universal worldwide and Polydor in the UK which is why I’m surprised both those songs appeared on Hits instead of Now

Just spotted Sam Ryder is on the new Christmas album too, which is a nice addition.

Laughing at them flexing that Bruce Springsteen license they like to show off at every opportunity with his version of Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town. They didn't waste making the most of the PSB license either.

I really don't rate the artwork, the penguins look a bit weird to me (AI?). I wouldn't want to own that cover on vinyl regardless, but as I have the 2022 vinyl with 95% the same tracks, it's a surefire miss for me. Wasted opportunity to change things up outside of the 20 or so core classics that I suppose have to be on every one.

Just been wondering, has any artist been Disc 1, Track 1 consecutively before? I just can't see anyone other than Sabrina kicking off the next compilation again the same as she did on Now 118.
