October 15, 2024Oct 15 Any artwork predictions for NOW 119? I seen this fan made cover https://now.site647.com/wiki/index.php/Now_...119_(UK_series)
October 15, 2024Oct 15 An AI job, looking at the spelling of the word 'that's', but it's a nice looking cover.

Maxi Jazz - Dance4Life 3s9svR6nnMg At this point the NOW Dance series were struggling a little bit. A lot of the big dance hits would already been snapped up for Clubland, the Ministry of Sound Annual, and NOW 65, but it still has some great of the moment Dance/Pop floofillers. Bob Sinclair, Rogue Traders, Jealousy, Deep Dish with Stevie Nicks, and Oakenfold with Brittany Murphy are still great bangers in my opinion. Like I said though, since it was on its last legs it did have to rely on older tracks to fill up space and therefore not really making it a good "Dance Annual of the Year" - DJ Sammy, Eric Prydz, Tomcraft, and other artists should really be on a "NOW The Very Best of Dance" special than the main NOW Dance album of the year. What songs from the Clublands/MOS comps of this era should've made it on this album? And what remixes of Pop Hits do you think should've made the cut? For me: Infernal - From Paris To Berlin/Self Control Cascada - Every Time We Touch Dannii Minogue - So Under Pressure/Perfection Pet Shop Boys - I'm With Stupid Mickey Modelle V Jessy - Dancing In The Dark should've made the cut.
October 16, 2024Oct 16 I got this cheap recently, didn't bother with it at the time as I preferred Clubland and MOS: Annual at the time and couldn't afford everything full price. I agree with those exclusions you mentioned - all would have made it stronger. Maybe add Incredible by Shapeshifters and I'll Be Ready by Sunblock. Too many older songs taking up space for me.

Oh yes! Or even Sensitivity with Chic. Odd they picked the one song from them that wasn't a 2006 single. Loved Sunblock as well! First Time with Robin Beck would've also been a brilliant addition (at least we got in one of the main NOWs). Just thought as well, September "Satellites" should be on here as well, it was one of my most played songs from 2006! Couldn't get enough of it. And also some Goldfrapp wouldn't have hurt as well.
October 16, 2024Oct 16 Just had an je-mail from HMV about Friday's 12" 80s release. "Due to a delay in receiving stock from our suppliers we have been unable to dispatch this in time for its original release date" My orders are dispatched from HMV Vault in Birmingham.

October 17, 2024Oct 17 NOW That's What I Call Music! 119 has officially been revealed with 44 tracks and a set release date of November 15! https://nowmusic.com/products/now-that-s-wh...l-music-119-2cd
October 17, 2024Oct 17 44 songs is not enough and they should stop leaving massive gaps which can easily be filled and as for the re-issues, they should’ve stopped at 9, 10 or 16. Feels strange stopping them at 18
October 17, 2024Oct 17 Now 19 is the only one I don't have so was hoping to fill that gap. I wonder if the licensing issues would have been too numerous (not that it's stopped them before). I could see The Source (original isn't on Spotify), Massive (Attack), Chris Isaak and INXS holding out. Maybe Queen too as it wasn't at the start of the album. Now 119 is decent enough considering the material available, there have been so few big hits since the last edition - Espresso and Good Luck, Babe! from Now 118 are still top five now even. Charli XCX is a big omission I guess, someone else on the Facebook group mentioned Tate McRae and Gigi Perez, I'm sure the latter will be on Now 120. Edited October 17, 2024Oct 17 by gooddelta
October 17, 2024Oct 17 If they’re not releasing autumn Nows at the usual time, then they can do the same with the spring Nows and I hope Now 120 gets released before Easter as 25th April seems too late to release a spring Now and I hope they fill it up with songs that missed Now 119. I don't understand why the tracklists for the autumn Nows are always a disaster. Now 117 and Now 118 were big improvements but Now 119 is a letdown Edited October 17, 2024Oct 17 by Hadji
October 17, 2024Oct 17 Omg that second half of disc 2 is amaze. Manics getting a second appearance and a debut for Linkin Park?
October 17, 2024Oct 17 Look like re-issues stop now 18 I think at least one time they didn't post them up at the same time so maybe still to come.

October 17, 2024Oct 17 They could’ve at least squeezed more songs on You are literally never happy and it's so bloody tiresome. Have you already worked out the run time of the CDs then? This is a standard number of tracks. 118 had 47 songs and 117 even had 50 but the tracks were very short in run time which allowed for the increased length but even if there was room, you shouldn't just expect extra tracks to be chucked on for the sake of the quality of the CD. Looking at the tracklist, this is a solid set of songs making do with what has been a pretty stagnant time in the charts and they've picked the best of the bunch. I'm not going to investigate the run time of every single track but at face value it doesn't seem like many of them are below 3 minutes anyway.
October 17, 2024Oct 17 Isn’t 44 songs fairly standard for the Now albums though? Back in the day when songs were long then yeah but not now when those gaps could easily be filled
