Just had a thought - Queen had a couple of singles in 1998, including a version of Another One Bites The Dust with Wyclef, I wonder if they might have held that back to open the Extra, as clearly it couldn't open the main version as George was there with a bigger hit.

As an aside, I realised today that no Yearbook OR Extra has ever opened with anything other than a male act (mainly due to the Queen/George/Wham! thing).

More jumping around with years. I don't know the majority on here so it will be a good learning curve.

Hungry Heart is a very famous song despite charting low, so I guess they are just using the Bruce licence they didn't have when the Yearbooks came out.

The Tiswas song is an interesting inclusion.

Maybe the reason why they went back to the 90s for the next yearbook was so that yearbook 1989 wasn’t released too close to the latest vault. I was gutted that 9 To 5 ain’t on there but I know it’s because it charted in 1981 so hopefully, it appears on vault 1981. I’ve also noticed that vault 1980 has some songs that made the top 20. This is brilliant and fingers crossed that they include some top 20 songs on vault 1985-1988 that never made any of the yearbooks between 1985 and 1988

I can see now why the vaults aren’t going in the order that their yearbook counterparts were released. Because if they did, they’d be releasing vaults without completing the final chapter for eg. Vault 1979 would be released before yearbook 1975-1979 so I see what they’re doing. I reckon 1975 and 1976 will be the next 2 70s yearbooks for that reason and once 1989 is released, they can release 1985-1989 then release vaults from the second half of the 80s

Same here and I’ve made a list of the missing songs which will most likely appear on the extra edition and I expect it to be released on 28th March. Next yearbook I reckon will be released on 2nd or 9th May, depending on when they decide to release Now 120

I haven't bought one in this series before so had forgot about the extra edition only a few weeks later, my poor wallet
I have Yearbooks for 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 92 and 93 so far but haven’t gotten any of the extras yet. I will definitely be doing so for 98 as it’s one of my favourite ever years.

It is February, so it seems like as good a time as ever to make a first tracklist prediction for the next volume in the series, Now 120, due for release in the Spring of 2025.

As ever, more singles will be released nearer the time that will likely be in contention, but here is what I came up with so far;

CD1

1. Gracie Abrams – That’s So True

2. Sabrina Carpenter – Bed Chem

3. Lola Young – Messy

4. Myles Smith – Nice To Meet Ya

5. KSI feat. Trippie Redd – Thick Of It

6. Coldplay feat. Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna & TINI – WE PRAY

7. Teddy Swims – Guilty

8. Billie Eilish – WILDFLOWER

9. Gigi Perez – Sailor Song

10. Sam Fender – People Watching

11. Michael Marcagi – Midwest Kid

12. Tom Grennan – Shadowboxing

13. Franz Ferdinand – Hooked

14. Mumford & Sons – Rushmere

15. Chappell Roan – Pink Pony Club

16. Lady Gaga – Disease

17. Linkin Park – Heavy Is The Crown

18. Charli xcx feat. Ariana Grande – Sympathy is a knife

19. Addison Rae – Diet Pepsi

20. Tate McRae – 2 hands

21. Rudimental feat. Mystic Marley & Flowdan – Ram Pam

22. Aitch & Bou – Raving In The Studio

23. Central Cee feat. 21 Savage – GBP

24. Doechii – DENIAL IS A RIVER

25. Griff – last night’s mascara

26. RAYE – Oscar Winning Tears.

CD2

1. ROSÉ & Bruno Mars – APT.

2. Charli xcx feat. Billie Eilish – Guess

3. JADE – IT girl

4. The Weeknd feat. Playboi Carti – Timeless

5. SZA – BMF

6. Tyla – PUSH 2 START

7. Tate McRae – Sports car

8. Chrystal – The Days [NOTION Remix]

9. PAWSA & The Adventures Of Stevie V – Dirty Cash (Money Talks)

10. Sub Focus feat. Katy B – Push The Tempo

11. Jazzy & KILIMANJARO – No Bad Vibes

12. Adam Port, Stryv, Keinemusik, Orso & Malachiii – Move

13. Nimino – I Only Smoke When I Drink

14. Kylie Minogue & YouNotUs – Someone For Me

15. Katy Perry – LIFETIMES

16. Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Freedom Of The Night

17. JADE – Fantasy

18. Perrie – You Go Your Way

19. Ella Henderson – Filthy Rich

20. Mark Ambor – Belong Together

21. Morgan Wallen – Love Somebody

22. Alex Warren – Burning Down

23. Sam Barber feat. Avery Anna – Indigo

24. The Cure – A Fragile Thing

25. Robbie Williams – Forbidden Road (from ‘Better Man’ Original Soundtrack)

26. Liam Payne – Teardrops

I suspect around 40% of these tracks will be cut closer to the release date, and I will no doubt make another prediciton in due course.

They’ll also include some of the hits that missed Now 119 and I hope it gets released on 11th April. Releasing it on 25th April seems too late for a spring Now
Such as...

Adam Port & Stryv - Move

Gigi Perez - Sailor Song

Mark Ambor - Belong Together

Post Malone featuring Luke Combs - Guy For That

Charli XCX had loads of hits in between Now 118 and Now 119 and they all missed out

Some of the songs in the prediction should’ve been on Now 119

As the summer and autumn Nows have set release dates, the spring Nows should also have a set release date of either last Friday in March or first Friday in April instead of being shuffled all over the place

Shaboozey an outside possibility too.

Lady Gaga's upcoming single Abracadabra should be saved for Now 121 so Disease gets its chance.

I’ll be surprised if Shaboozey appears considering he should’ve been on Now 118 but saying that, some songs have been delayed to 3 Nows later instead of 2 and I reckon they could include Disease and save Abracadabra for Now 121. If Disease didn’t make the top 40 at all, they’d have most likely skipped straight to Abracadabra

Whilst I love IT GIRL and would love for it to appear on NOW 120 it's only a buzz single (apparently). But yes to Fantasy being added! And I also hope Sophie appears with "Freedom Of The Night". It was a fun little bop that deserves some more recognition.

I was worried about APT. making it due to it being a K-Pop Girlie, and a lot of the K-Pop stars haven't appeared. BTS only appeared once with Coldplay - on Coldplay's label, and FIFTY FITY are the only other K-Pop band to appear. But the latest Bravo Hits album does have it, so maybe 120 will get APT as well.

I do wonder if Charli will appear, as I don't see her on other chart comps across Europe. If she does maybe we'll just get Apple? Could be hard to license "Guess" with Billie.

How thrilling. I think these albums tend to hang around in the compilation charts for a while (certainly the Timeless one did), so I'm not surprised that they keep pumping variations of them out.
