It should have remained an album track only.

I essentially see Can't Stop Writing Songs About You as being a glorified promo track that rounded off the Disco era. Mostly an excuse for more exposure on Radio 2 than anything else (although clearly working with Gloria Gaynor was extremely exciting for Kylie). I find it quite curious that it actually has a music video - a rather basic one, but nevertheless it's a video. Yet regardless, to me it just doesn't feel like it's a "proper" single.

Which really highlights how odd it was that Real Groove and Hold On to Now don't have music videos (both really warranted a music video and them not having that treatment came across as BMG taking their eye off the ball, in those two respective album campaigns). Now it looks as though My Oh My won't have one either, which again would be odd if it's actually intended to be a lead for a reissue.

Kylie's journey with BMG has certainly had its triumphs, but undeniably there's been some confusing decisions and missteps along the way.

Some decisions from BMG do bring confusio but what I would like to know is how they decide what songs get videos and what don't.

I think it probably falls down to budgeting constraints at that moment in time.
