Welcome to Week 12! :spin:

Results of Week 11

There had to be a landslide winner one of these weeks, but who would have predicted Enigma - Return To Innocence as the one to do so - its 14 votes were 6 more than The Prodigy in second place.

As usual, the ~contentious~ entry to the worst list made no contention for the win - instead ended in a 5-5 draw between Right Said Fred - Don't Talk Just Kiss and Ugly Kid Joe - Everything About You

Best poll winners

week 1: Danny And The Juniors - At The Hop

week 2: Dusty Springfield - I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself

week 3: Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay

week 4: David Bowie - Life On Mars?

week 5: David Bowie - Sound And Vision

week 6: ABBA - Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (A Man After Midnight)

week 7: Tears For Fears - Mad World

week 8: Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy

week 9: New Order - Blue Monday [1988]

I was aiming for 12 in the best poll (to go with 6 in the worst), but all 13 of these got a good reception ('Swamp Thing' in retrospect for those who missed it x), so I couldn't leave any out. Throwing my weight behind 'Missing' for the win, with a vote also to 'Whatever' although I don't think that'll be its main competition.

The worst list was easier to compile this week but my vote has to go to Smokie / Roy 'Chubby' Brown.

Voted for my top 3 this week:

Faithless - Insomnia

Oasis - Whatever

Youssou N'Dour feat. Neneh Cherry - 7 Seconds

Also chose Smokie/Roy 'Chubby' Brown for worst

my faves of the time got my plus votes: 7 Seconds, Whatever, Two Can Play That game, Missing. Worst there's only one actual good track on the list (Boyzone) so any of the others could have got the vote, but it has to be Chubby brown for ruining a classic 70's track for ever and ever - it's impossible to play it in a public setting without the shitty added on bit getting shouted out. For crimes against music that lifts it over the heads of the mere dross of the other contenders.

Went for:

Swamp Thing

7 Seconds

Missing

Insomnia

One & One

Went for Living Next Door To Alice for worst: as others have said it’s really another level of obnoxiousness compared to the other sleepy ones.

Tough call, but went with 7 Seconds, Whatever, Push the Feeling On, Scatman, Missing, Trash and Insomnia. I could've slotted Virtual Insanity in there too, but eight felt a bit too many.

3T for worst, I don't LOVE the Alice thing but I at least remember it x

No session today so this poll will stay open for another week, if anyone wants to break the tie (or create an ever bigger one (or just complain about the poll choices)).
