It's going to be be top 2 so not really sure how it can be a flop unless it was expected to get triple platinum first week

Yes, its numbers aren't as high as its big debut but it seems to be stabilising now (still #1 on Apple Music) and will probably remain in the Top 10 for a while. Not a flop, especially given how Post Malone hasn't had a Top 10 hit in half a decade now.

Find me multiple posts from multiple users from more than 5 days ago that say the song is absolutely going to debut at #1 in the UK and you can have all the gardening implements you want. Heck, the first page of this thread has people in denial that it'll even cross over.

 

Morgan Wallen consistently has been debuting super high on US Spotify* with pretty much any standalone single he puts out since at least 2020, dropping like 50-60% streams within a few days to a week and soaking up consistent streams in the months and years that follow. The only thing that's different this time is that his name isn't first on the record, and the numbers are a lot higher.

 

*I am aware it's a different country but pretty much every country's Spotify charts behave in a similar way just with different benchmarks for particular artists, genres etc.

Correct, although it's not like he's come out of nowhere. He's got loads of songs with over 1 million streams on Spotify (and a feature on a Brent Faiyaz track from last year with 39m), so he's been steadily getting bigger until going viral now.

In fairness, I'd never heard the name Olivia Rodrigo before 'Drivers License' debuted with insanely high numbers so that doesn't always mean much.
