I'm not quite sure why autoplay would be so annoying to turn it off. It can get a bit repetitive but it's only short-term and always songs I'd normally listen to anyway, it's not like it adds loads of plays of songs from people that would never come across and play it themselves.

So, we all think Espresso will remain number 1 this Friday right? Billie 66k behind Expresso in its first day. Post Malone had a strong first day with more than 1million streamings but finished at number 2. -_-
I have Apple Music and once you finish an album nothing gets played!
- People who use the autoplay feature regularly are noticing Espresso is getting auto-played when it shouldn't be normally and it is/was probably getting the song 100,000-200,000 streams extra each day.

And I just want to add that Stick Season didn't get anywhere near this much autoplay. It's not simply down to Espresso being a big hit.

I think this figure is absurd and don’t agree on stick season either. If you leave auto play on it’ll cover the whole top 50 eventually, just so happens the most popular song is coming first. I prefer how it used to be in terms of more personalised songs than most popular songs but that’s how it is now. It’s a case of whatever is hugely popular being on auto play more so when Sabrina gets less popular she will get less autoplay but when that happens I’m sure people will get it mixed up and think she’s less popular because she’s getting less autoplay that difference is key, anyway I would say 75k streams per day max plus most of the top 20 get some autoplay benefit as well.

Hard to say until we see how Billie holds up tomorrow but you’d have to make Sabrina fav for sure

I think Sabrina will still be #1 pretty comfortably this week but Billie might get #2 again (would continue her streak of the highest peaking single from each album getting to #2, with both of her #1s having been soundtrack singles).

Shaboozey has knocked Sabrina off #1 on Apple now though!

The point of autoplay is not that you personally have it on or off - but that many (majority?) of people have it on, and therefore it inflates the streaming numbers massively without the users voluntarily putting the song to play / having in their own playlist or at very least having it in the playlist they chose to stream.

But it is one of many streaming manipulations we know and is the general problem with streaming determinizing the genuine popularity of the songs.

the problem is also, at least in my experience, autopayola is more aggressive now than ever, sure more than it was a few months ago and definitely more than it was years ago, I used to love it cos it was showing different songs all the times and it was always nice recommendation that made sense according to what you usually streamed so it was actually a nice way to discover songs and artists

but now it's like always 1 song and always the same, hammered to date and played no matter whether it fits or not with what you normally stream

I've read comments from tons of people on the Billie forum all complaining why the hell is Espresso playing always after the Billie album like wtf

I'm even thinking that part of the reason of the higher streams at the top is this more aggressive autopayola that we had now

also now sure what the default is? for a while in the past the default was for autoplay to be off sp you have to turn it on

now I think it's the other way around

Billie to push for some CDs / cassettes please.

LUNCH is a real banger. There’s actually stronger on the album but it’s an undeniable smash and I’d really welcome her to get herself another #1 here and achieve her first chart double!

Looking at todays streams Billie held up okay but challenging for 1 looking a tough ask

Just had the same experience - Espresso autoplay after Billie. It'd make more sense to be Chapelle Roan if anything (or Alanis No Pressure Over Cappuccino if they had to play a coffee related post album track :coffee:

amazing hold up for Billie <3 quality wins
