Guess it makes sense this track is back as very similar in style to 'Houdini'. Poor Moby getting the public insult though. :(

Biography

Mark Ronson is a multi-hyphenate with a Midas touch: a producer, songwriter, and entertainer who, since the turn of the millennium, has changed the sound and shape of pop music as we know it—more than once. Born in London in 1975, Ronson grew up surrounded by music: His father managed bands, and his mother later married Foreigner’s Mick Jones. Ronson started off as a hip-hop DJ while studying at New York University, and his debut album, 2003’s Here Comes the Fuzz, first displayed his uncanny ability to bridge musical worlds. Over zig-zagging funk, disco, and reggae, he incorporated an unlikely array of guests—Ghostface Killah, Jack White, Sean Paul, and Rivers Cuomo—that anticipated the new century’s genre-agnostic approach to pop. Ronson beefed up his own music’s vintage polish and soulful depths on 2007’s Version, around the same time that he became equally celebrated for his production work. Along with records for Lily Allen and Christina Aguilera, Ronson co-produced Amy Winehouse’s acclaimed 2006 LP Back to Black, taking home three Grammys. In ensuing years, he’s manned the boards for Adele, Solange, Wiley, Lady Gaga, and Paul McCartney—a diverse group whose only common denominator is a determination to break boundaries and make history. Ronson is no stranger to the latter: His barnstorming 2014 party jam, “Uptown Funk (feat. Bruno Mars),” is notable not only for its chart-topping run but also the speed with which it became universally recognized as a timeless slice of pop perfection, the kind of song destined to amp up wedding receptions for decades to come. But that success hasn’t hamstrung him: Subsequent albums, like 2015’s Uptown Special and 2019’s Late Night Feelings, have found him masterminding ever more audacious guest lists while finding new ways to make evergreen styles sound entirely new. - Apple Music

Biography

Born in 1993, London-based songwriter/producer Fred John Philip Gibson treats his electro and rave-inspired songs as diary entries. But the artist, who performs under the name Fred Again.., doesn’t limit the subject matter to himself. On albums like 2021’s Actual Life (April 14 - December 17 2020) and its sequel, Actual Life 2 (February 2 - October 15 2021), Fred invited his friends into the studio to record their personal stories and then sprinkled them throughout the album. (The obvious exception was an epic Kodak Black sample on “Kahan (Last Year)”.) The songwriter has also worked with stars such as Eminem and Ed Sheeran, but Fred’s longest collaboration is with his brothers, whom he shares his tracks with before they’re released. “It’s such a blessing to work with both of my brothers,” Fred explained in an interview with Apple Music. “I’ll spend hours and hours working on a tune, and they’ll hear it how I will, but without all the baggage. They bring a fresh ear.” - Apple Music

Biography

Music knows roots but not borders, and the same is true of Rudimental. Since forming in 2011, the London quartet of producers (Piers Aggett, Kesi Dryden, Amir Izadkhah, and Leon Rolle) has faithfully championed UK dance music’s hybrid spirit, fusing drum ’n’ bass, house, reggae, and more into a soulful amalgam. When they appeared with early singles like the barnstorming 2012 anthem “Feel the Love,” there was nothing else like them out there: UK underground dance tilted toward cozily retro house, while EDM was in ascendance around the world. Rudimental sidestepped both trends, favoring songwriting over club tracks and pulling from a broad range of inspirations—though songs like the shuffling “Spoons” proved them adept at the deepest strains of UK garage, and “Waiting All Night” could dwarf the biggest main-stage banger. Rather than hog the limelight, the producers turned the lens back on the multicultural stomping grounds of their native Hackney, whose famous Peace Carnival mural is depicted on the cover of their debut album, 2013’s Home. Similar themes of solidarity and community uplift powered subsequent albums; so did the group’s knack for finding exactly the right singer for their songs. In addition to their rotating cast of top-shelf contemporary vocalists like MNEK, Sinead Harnett, and Ed Sheeran, they brought in bona fide legends like soul icon Bobby Womack and South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It’s a way of acknowledging that, much as dance music needs to keep moving forward, it’s nothing if it forgets its past. - Apple Music

Biography

There’s purpose in Dua Lipa’s euphoric pop. “For me, it’s about championing women and putting ourselves in the position of power,” the singer told Apple Music in 2020, ahead of the release of her second album, Future Nostalgia. “I have been inspired by the female alphas that have shown me that we can do it. And that we can wear the pants, you know? We need more of that in music.” Forcing the world to get a little more comfortable with female alphas has been a mission statement for Lipa (born in London to Kosovar Albanian parents in 1995) since her 2017 self-titled debut. It housed the triumphant breakup smash “New Rules”, the self-love anthem “IDGAF” and the assured “Hotter Than Hell”—songs which made it clear that this was no ingénue, but rather an outspoken, effortlessly cool face of pop’s future. Indeed, that status was cemented a year later when Lipa made history as the first female solo artist to receive five BRIT Award nominations. She won two and, in 2019, added two Grammys to her mantelpiece.

Despite the success of her debut, Lipa wasn’t interested in recreating its hits. “People always say, ‘The second album is really scary,’ but for me, it’s more scary to go back into the studio and try to create something like ‘New Rules’ or ‘IDGAF’ over and over again,” she said. “I feel like I’d end up in a vicious cycle of trying to get somewhere but never being able to mature as an artist.” And so, to move forward, she pivoted to the past, drawing on disco and funk—and filtering it through her ahead-of-its-time pop—to arrive at Future Nostalgia. Decadent and every bit as empowering as those early hits, it brought Lipa her first Mercury Prize nod, multiple Grammy nominations and a rightful place in pop’s upper echelons. And with it, too, came Lipa’s new purpose. Released just as the world went into lockdown amid the coronavirus crisis, Future Nostalgia became an urgent tonic for tough times—danced to in living rooms across the world. Yet Lipa wasn’t done there: Five months later, she unveiled Club Future Nostalgia, a thrilling remixed version on which the singer teamed up with club queen The Blessed Madonna, and guests including Madonna, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani and Mark Ronson, to bring lockdown-fatigued listeners another dose of escapism. “I didn’t think I’d be putting albums out during a global pandemic,” added Lipa. “But it’s just about creating experiences for everyone at home. That’s the most important thing for me now.”

All of this, of course, is only just the beginning. “I really feel like I’m finding my feet,” said Lipa. “I feel so proud of Future Nostalgia as a whole and the most confident and the most myself making it. But I’m already planning the next move.” - Apple Music

Biography

In a 2019 interview with Apple Music, Harry Styles shared a memory from the early days of One Direction. They were in the studio in Sweden working on “What Makes You Beautiful”. First single, the rollercoaster train just starting to climb the track. Someone comes into the room and says there are a couple of girls outside. Why? the band asks. They’re looking for you guys. For One Direction. “And we’re all just like, ‘But we’re in Sweden!’” Ah, the old, “who…us?” routine. Harry! Incorrigibly charming, dreamboat for starry-eyed youth the world over. And, as it turns out, a legitimate force in pop, the kind of artist who could bridge contemporary appeal with classic values in ways that felt fresh but familiar, universal. Part of what had made One Direction so great was that they never shied away from the pleasures of boy-band pop, but never patronised their audiences or fell back on gimmicks, either: Never mind the no-dancing policy; they were writing songs, exploring music as something beyond the show. In his solo career, Styles (born 1994, in Redditch, England) has done much the same, combining soul (“Watermelon Sugar”), confessional soft rock (“Sign of the Times”) and psychedelia (“Sunflower, Vol. 6”) with a modern touch, summarising where pop has been while also pushing it forward. “I’m just trying to go through life being a little less worried about stuff,” he said. “Definitely with working. Because ultimately, it’ll be okay.” He had a busy five years there. But he’s got a lifetime ahead of him. - Apple Music

Biography

The country world feigned surprise when, after three albums of Music Row-indebted songcraft, Taylor Swift formally embraced pop on 2012’s Red. But no one should have been shocked: Any 14-year-old capable of persuading her parents to move from suburban Pennsylvania to Nashville for her career clearly has ambition to burn. And the thrill of following Swift’s rise has been watching her execute it flawlessly, largely because her melodic intelligence is equal to that ambition. Her early, youthful love songs heralded 2010's newly self-possessed Speak Now—which showed off her scathing wit—and evolved into knowing, ironclad pop fare that held its own against boisterous Max Martin production on 1989, her fifth album, titled after her birth year. Throughout, her songwriting has blurred the lines between the public and private, burying enough real-life clues (about, say, scarves and Starbucks) to make clear that only Swift can own her narrative, thank you very much, while still retaining a lyrical elegance. Though 2017’s reputation might have been perceived as a gorgeously constructed piece of dramatic theater—its attendant heroes and villains all real-life characters from Swift's public feuds—all that spectacle proved an attention-grabbing cover for her most romantic album yet. She turned up the romance even more on 2019’s Lover, but it was 2020’s folklore and its companion, evermore—ruminative, relatively lo-fi albums written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic—that earned her the Apple Music Award for Songwriter of the Year. She followed those up in 2022 with Midnights, which she wrote and produced with Jack Antonoff, and described as "the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life." In 2023, Swift undertook one of the most ambitious road shows of all time: the multi-year Eras Tour, which saw her presenting new and classic material across more than 100 locales worldwide. It was just one of many reasons she was named Apple Music's Artist of the Year for 2023. - Apple Music
