The new reigning Queens of my chart are Charli xcx and Lorde who both score their first ever #1s with the remixed version of Charli's 'BRAT' album track 'Girl, so confusing'. I really enjoyed the original but Lorde takes the track up to another level, her insightful lyrics help to create an even more powerful pop moment  Charli's 'Apple' also climbs into the top 5 for the first time since it's release! Tommy Richman's follow-up to 'MILLION DOLLAR BABY' is also up to a new peak this week, 'DEVIL IS A LIE' is on the verge of the top 5 :cheer: Fontaines D.C's fantastic sophomore single from their upcoming album 'Romance' debuts straight into the top 5 as well  There is a big boost for Joey Valence and Brae across my chart this week, with 'PACKAPUNCH' featuring Danny Brown reaching a new peak within the top 10. Lastly, The Killers have a huge impact across the chart thanks to their amazing show in Glasgow. This means that the CLASSIC 'Smile Like You Meant It' gets the top 10 debut it has deserved for 20 years... July 2, 20241 yr Hey Nate! Yass slay. The girl, so confusing is great and Lorde definitely adds to the song. No complaints from me. A fan climb for sympathy is a knife. So well deserved. Your side of town is great. I must admit I prefer the less rocky stuff from them. An 80's album would have been the dream but alas... Brandons solo venture was quite good as well. Lonely Town was a particular highlight from him. I'm glad to see genesis arrest it's fall. Her willingness to experiment is what sets her apart from her peers. Cherry blossom is great. It really reminds me of the 2010's alt pop scene and I am here for it. Fab chart ^_^
July 2, 20241 yr Hey Nate :hi: hope your week has been off to a good start so far! Amazing to see Charli and Lorde going straight in at #1 :cheeseblock: this remix really helped the song click with me, such raw and personal lyrics contributed from Lorde <3 Pleased to see the high debut for Fontaines D.C. also *.* this era is off to such a promising start and their Glastonbury set got me even more hyped for the album somehow. Speaking of Glastonbury... I spy a good new entry from James Blake too and I've really got to catch up on his set! I saw him live supporting Kendrick Lamar a while ago and he was fab. Here for some Killers classics making it in too :cheer:
July 3, 20241 yr Hi Nate! Nice to see a Killers takeover and the debut for "Life". Great chart! Take care.
July 4, 20241 yr Author brat :P omg bré on your chart :o Hi Jack! If anyone hasn't checked out Joey Valence and Brae then I beg that you must x Hey Nate! Yass slay. 'Sympathy is a knife' coming to be the next song from 'BRAT' to gain top 10 status tomorrow? The Killers' performance of 'Your Side Of Town' at the date I went to of theirs was acoustic surprsingly! It sounded great though and was enough for that banger to re-enter. Agreed that an album in the 80s-influenced style from them would've been. The new Empire Of The Sun album is ahping up to be really good as well. Hey Nate :hi: hope your week has been off to a good start so far! Here for some Killers classics making it in too :cheer: Hi Jade! Lorde is such a fantastic songwriter, she was the perfect choice for this version imo! The 'Romance' era has indeed started with a bang, I hope they move the album forward/back a week or two so they get another #1 album! There will probably be more songs by James in the next edition of my chart, his set at Glasto was a must-watch for me! The Killers must be one of my fav bands of all-time, there are so many classics in their discography! Hi Nate! Nice to see a Killers takeover and the debut for "Life". Great chart! Take care. Hi Sergej! Great that you are supporting The Killers' long overdue takeover on my chart, let's hope their next album isn't too far away! 'Life' is a mega-bop as well.
July 4, 20241 yr Hi Nate, great to see Fontaines D.C. with another high new entry, and I'm loving The Killers' takeover - 'When You Were Young' is one of my absolute favourite songs of the 2000s, and the live acoustic version of 'Your Side Of Town' sounds intriguing, albeit I'd have happily had a whole album in the vein of the studio version's synthy glory!
