Posted July 9, 2024Jul 9 Probably about time we split this one out of the album thread as it's now been confirmed that Multiply will have a video this week. Love this one, probably the right choice to move on to next really. View this post on Instagram YfFwuPFBwbQ
July 9, 2024Jul 9 This hasn't been an easy era to observe for her. She's really struggled for a hit from this album.
July 12, 2024Jul 12 I don't think Multiply is going to even touch the Top 100 sadly as a post-album single.
July 15, 2024Jul 15 Yeah this is a banger - the singles selection leading up to the album release I think have been a bit questionable at times.
July 15, 2024Jul 15 This hasn't been an easy era to observe for her. She's really struggled for a hit from this album. I don't think she's done that badly, she's not an artist whose every release is a guaranteed hit. She's had a few decent/middling ones almost as per usual for her and it doesn't feel like her standing has slipped drastically.
July 15, 2024Jul 15 Really? I think the new era has done much much much worse than the previous one both in terms of number of hit singles, position of hit singles and also album sales. The new album hasn't even sold 1/10th of what Only Honest did! Only Honest had 6 top 20 hits, the new album just 1... July 15, 2024Jul 15 Because the singles have been shocking. Keep Holding On, Swim, Back Around I prefer to mostly all of them. Multiply sounds dated very dated
July 15, 2024Jul 15 I think to maintain some level of credibility as a solo artist she still needs to hop on a few dance features a year to keep the momentum going. This album just wasn't what it could have been and the promotion from her team has been poor. I do think it might be better for her to take a year out and come back stronger after?
July 15, 2024Jul 15 Author What do you mean the album isn't what it could've been? It's a record Becky truly wanted to make production wise, she shouldn't need to be featured on every producer under the sun's track to have credibility? Commercially the album has faired well getting Top 3. Poor promo? In what sense? During album release week she was on The One Show, Kiss FM radio, Hits Radio Live to thousands in an arena. The week before she did Big Weekend and an interview with Glamour magazine. Acoustic live shows were also done in May to showcase tracks from the album. She's also very active on social media. I don't they could've done any more??
July 15, 2024Jul 15 Tbh I think with the lack of UK artists charting atm and most female British artists struggling for even a top 100 placement she's done fine The album is good and is my favorite of hers. Lots of replay value, just a few terrible terrible shocking actually single choices and the only reason the other albums have higher sales is due to basically what is happening to the Weeknd Greatest Hits album Edited July 15, 2024Jul 15 by Rough_edges
July 25, 2024Jul 25 Multiply (LIZOT remix) out tomorrow These remixes make she's moving away from her more elegant recent style. It seems like they’re trying to make the songs from her recent album more accessible to the public ^_^ Edited July 25, 2024Jul 25 by JOTA
July 29, 2024Jul 29 I guess I'm curious to know what everyone thinks was a "shocking" or bad single choice?
July 29, 2024Jul 29 I guess I'm curious to know what everyone thinks was a "shocking" or bad single choice? Side Effects probably wasn't a great lead... but then it did get a big follow-up with Disconnect. Never Be Alone was ok. Outside of love I think was a bit of a mis-step for a single to go into the album with. Had Right Here, or Multiply been pushed at that point I think they may have done better. Right Here got a slight push, but had it had the focus of a main single then I guess the song may have one top 40. Overall though its a odd one as Disconnect did give her a top 10 hit, its just the rest didn't seem to do anything in a big way. I've have dumped Side Effects as being the lead and changed Outside of Love.
July 29, 2024Jul 29 Author Surely saying 'True Colours' was a single the week before the album came out and then proceeded to do nothing with its promotion is the misfire here?
July 29, 2024Jul 29 'Outside Of Love' was her best song since 'Remember', regardless of whether it was a hit or not (and I think a big part of the reason is because it was a solo credit)
