New characters for Gugu and Russell, not Tish Jones or Midshipman Frame respectively, but Jemma is of course playing Kate Stewart and Alexander is playing Colonel Ibrahim.

Well Kerblam! and Praxeus were some of the better episodes from that era of Doctor Who so I'm here for Pete McTighe being involved. A UNIT spin-off is very much welcome! To think Kate has been a recurring character for 12 years now is a pretty fantastic feat.

Ruth Madeley now confirmed to be appearing in this! Wonder if there’s going to be any truth to Martha/Gwen appearing since this is defo turning out to be the UNIT spin-off :thinking:

RTD's confirmed that we'll be getting a first teaser trailer for this at the end of The Reality War on Saturday

Honestly this is giving me the vibe it could be something as good as Children of Earth if they aren't messing around. And the Sea Devil redesign looks a lot better than it did in those leaked filming pics.

Also of note is the split of writing between RTD and Pete McTighe has been confirmed:

This does look so good from the Trailer, a lot of unit characters could we get some suprise ex companions popping up

Also intrigued if Russels character is connected to his character from Voyage of the Damned (or they at least hint at it)

Speaking of torchwood comparison it really need a new series (yes i know john Barrowman drama but still 🤣)

I don't think they need John Barrowman for Torchwood if they can rope Eve Myles back in. Call Freema Agyeman and Mandip Gill and hire a couple of newbies and you've got a fantastic cast - would love to see it happen but I think it's unlikely :(

I can envision Torchwood without John Barrowman - Jack not appearing would feel very strange though.

Even someone like Ruby could slot into torchwood, but yeah I agree

Confirmed to be airing in December in the UK

One of the actresses appearing in this has now said that it’s transmitting in ‘late December’, so I’m wondering if this is gonna end up just being a 5-night thing Monday to Friday instead of over 5 weeks? surely they can’t be thinking of billing it as Christmas TV though…

They keep mentioning a christmas treat so that does make the most sense though

Think its so they dont lose the festive slot even though a christmas episode of doctor who next year has already been announced so who knows

If that’s the case I hope they actually utilise the Christmas Day slot and have it airing nightly up to the finale on Christmas Day or launching it then and having it air nightly afterwards until the 29th. Would seem odd to have it running into the new year.
