Capital has just added Tom Walker's Better Half Of Me to the playlist. Nit sure if Heart has as well.

Torn's removal must have been a mistake in the last update (almost 2 months ago!) as they've still been playing it. Otherwise, a big clearout all round naturally!

Harleys in Hawaii added to Capital FM? Does this mean it’s a single now? ;)

I thought it always was a single? Albeit an underperforming one.

of course it's a single, when something flops it doesn't make it a buzz single

Not by default no but labels often choose to make them buzz/promo singles to try and save the era

This is not the case. It was a promo single from the start, it has not officially been sent to radio. Capital are playing it of their own accord which is NOT confirmation of a single necessarily - they have playlisted non-singles before.

I think "Harleys In Hawaii" is going to be a single.

It's true that it was a promo single from the start because Katy and Capitol (her US label) don't want to label the track as a single and there aren't any intentions to properly push the song in the US (for now). However, the track was sent to radio in Australia and Italy last month, so it makes me think that Universal is going to promote this internationally. That said, Joseph is right because Capital FM has playlisted album tracks in the past, so let's see what happens in the next weeks.

Massive clear out for capital :o

Probs related to who’s lining up for their Jingle Bell Ball.

Capital love a bit of quid pro pro.

It’s actually more to do with Global’s inability to update their website  Heart’s actual playlist hasn’t been updated in over a year online

It’s more likely the music department not giving the playlists to the people who man the websites. Radio X’s playlist normally seems up to date.

I can update it by tracking the song plays and I don’t even work for them :P

They started playing it a couple of weeks after it came out.

  • 3 weeks later...
The only Christmas song Capital has playlisted at moment is Mabel's new one 'Loneliest Time of Year'.

Interesting to see if it helps it out.

Mabel has had 5 plays today so far which is decent enough. It’s odd for it to be isolated as the only Christmas song so far, do they usually pick others up like Heart? I’d imagine Little Mix will be the only other one they play if they do
Yeh I'm surprised they haven't supported LM straight away too - do they not usually play Liam Payne too? He has an Xmas song!
