I’d have given it 23 points if it wasn’t for the Susan Boyle cover haha.

By the way, I’m thinking of starting a Christmas #1 rate in November if people would be interested?

Yeah it’s a shame about the lyrics in Brown Sugar because the tune is timeless, I agree Jim.

I had no idea Susan Boyle ever covered Wild Horses. Sounds like a terrible idea!

Start Me Up was the last good Stones single for me..

Wow did you really not know it before the Susan Boyle cover? :o

My gut feel is that Susan Boyle's version won't have had too much impact on many buzzjack voters

Sounds bizarre, but yes it's true - I knew of it and it ended the track listing on my Hot Rocks CD's, but as Brown Sugar always got on my nerves I didn't really feel inclined to play either after the Honky Tonk Women/1969 era. Subo made me take notice of the song and like it, but I think you're right and I'll be the only one

Speaking of which, Honky Tonk Women not top 10!! How the mighty have fallen - I was showing my Rolling Stones fan mate the thread at the airport on Monday and he was speculating what would come out top, and he was rather surprised when I commented that Paint It Black is their biggest track in the 21st century, when back in the day it was clearly Satisfaction and Honky Tonk Women. Brown Sugar and Start Me Up both flattered to be top 10 from my point of view. I gave Brown Sugar some more plays for a few weeks in 2021 for my Year-reviews, anticipating some sort of Holy Realisation that I've been wrong all these decades, and I have finally seen the light of its riffing brilliance shining brightly ahead.

Mostly it was just a noisy oncoming lorry to run me over, though. Still just a 4/10 at best. After half a century I fear I wont be changing my mind... :teresa:

Appears I didn't vote for 'Start Me Up' but it wouldn't have been far away. Looks like I voted for everything else in the top 15, albeit there's one of their #1s which I'm a little surprised is still to come (the 'Help!' of this rate, if you will...)

Awwww I was obviously hoping Paint It Black would win.

It's so far ahead of the others as my #1 that I can't quite comprehend how someone wouldn't have voted for it.

I don’t know if “Get Off Of My Cloud” is the one Jim described as the “Help” of this rate but it just makes me smile a lot somehow.

My top 2 out back to back then.

Yes I was referring to 'Get Off Of My Cloud' earlier - it is quite recognisable though, I suppose.

I was convinced 'Paint It, Black' would win (and gave it 20 points), to see it miss the top 5 is baffling to say the least!

Ok, so I’ve made a massive mistake, I’m just going to post the rest of the rate now haha.
