GIRLS ALOUD AT THE BBC - BBC2, 9:10 - 10:10pm, Saturday 17th August:

They first triumphed on the 2002 reality show Pop Stars: The Rivals, and over the next decade, dominated the UK charts, the tabloids and the affections of fans of pure pop perfection.

Here are the group’s greatest musical moments and biggest hits, from their chart-topping debut Sound of the Underground to Something Kind of Ooooh, Can’t Speak French, Call the Shots and beyond.

Very pleased we’re receiving one of these! It’ll be followed by a reshowing of the Tangled Up Tour.

Given that Call the Shots and Can't Speak French were mentioned in the programme description and both appear to have only been performed once on the BBC, seems like these will be aired! -

I hope a fan will rip the forthcoming show, because presumably these performances will all be aired in HD? A lot of their old performances don't seem to be available in any higher quality than 480p!

I hope they choose the Strictly performance of Something New, it's epic :cheeseblock:

LOLLL your response makes his even better

I mean, ask a silly question and you get a silly answer!!

My query of wondering which particular performance they’ll select for each single is surely valid to wonder!
Looking forward to this, a nice trip down memory lane, I loved the kylie one the BBC did.

The Cher, Madonna and Spice Girls ones were good too. They are still on there if you want to check them out.

Love you x

I didn't realise just how many Children in Need performances they've done! I'm sure we'll get plenty of TOTP performances but I hope we get some more of the obscure BBC show performances.
I've the sky box set for this, there is an all saints programme on after girls aloud followed by a girl and top of the pops.

Watched this last night, all excited to see this and the Tangled Up Tour again...

And I'll be bluntly honest. I was so disappointed. It was terrible. It was so poorly edited and compiled. Zooming out of songs before they were finished. The on screen info for each song, some of the "facts" weren't even true ('They didn't record Wicked Game'? Er yeah they did).

The clips weren't even in chronological order, jumping from Sound of the Underground on Top of the Pops to Love Machine and Long Hot Summer(?)

The use of the videos for See The Day, Wake Me Up AND Jump when we know full well that they performed those on BBC shows? Especially for Wake Me Up? (The bikes on TOTP? Need I say more)

And then to add insult to injury, NONE of the performances of "Something New" to finish on and they played "Mahbaybehmahbaybehmahbaybeh" over the end credits? Are they freaking trolling us?

Whoever compiled and edited this show was quite clearly not a fan or couldn't be bothered to do their research. I could have done a better job. Half the hardcore fanbase could have done a better job. I'm actually of a mind to complain to the BBC because it actually ruined my enjoyment of watching the Tangled Up Tour again because I was in such a grump about the hatchet job that had been done. They deserved better.
