I'm not the biggest fan of the Bruno/Gaga (Bruga? Gano?) track on first listen but I think it's way too early to write it off just yet. It definitely has that feel of a long-running but relatively low-peaking hit.

'Lifetimes' is excruciatingly basic! I know Katy's never been known for her innovation or boundary-pushing but even for her this is just trash, lyrically and musically. No one can be surprised that she's flopping so hard. Maybe the album will open with nice numbers but we'll see.

I’d predict low top ten and two weeks in the chart for the Katy album

 

Smile went 5-25-54-91 and she’s clearly lost even more goodwill since

I think she could do like 6-7k and wind up at like #8 or something? There’s obviously not going to be a single hit carrying it though so who knows?

 

Nice to see Lifetimes not completely dying away (not to say it’s in any way successful but there are mild signs of growth, and I’ll take the crumbs!)

Oh I didn't check Apple at all yesterday so thought Benson wasn't charting, great that he's making such good progress there! Spotify follow suit pls x

I reckon Katy will debut top 3; maybe #2. I think physicals will sell about 10K which will make her top 3, overall landing about 12K. Then she’ll flop out of the top 20 in the second week, agree with two weeks in chart. Something like 2-26-80-X.

 

Requires such low sales now for #1 that legacy acts quit easily get #1 or top 3 albums and flop out the following week, high debuting albums are no longer a metric if an album is successful like it could be in the noughties and earlier

Gaga & Bruno actually rising on US Spotify into top 10, so it’s a shame it’s had a drop here. It seems very stable though and can see it being a decent sized hit in the long run.

Benson-Pretty Slowly already #50 on Amazon

Benson has dominated Amazon for months, in particular Beautiful Things, which is still #5+10, so prob #1 combined

he's also #13 with Slow it Down and even #54 with Death Wish Love, which was top 10 not long ago
