It will flop, they are not ABBA and need to stop thinking they are!

  • It's such a bad bad idea... And this was clearly planted by Simon and his team to see if there is any traction to it. Ive had a look and all comments everywhere seem very negative, so that should be a

It's a horrible idea at this point, it's simply far too early. By all means think about doing it in 2046... but not now!! They're only in their early 50s (or 49 x), there's really no valid excuses for

Good to see SUYL was used in the fireworks display. It certainly had a big year in 2023 with Barbie and Doctor Who. I wonder if one day it will over take 2 become 1 to be their 2nd biggest seller in the UK.

Also it is worth noting the social media pushing the 30 year narrative on theur New year post today. They have never really acknowledge 1994 as the start of the Spice Girls before but it will fit the narrative this year with the documentary and hopefully more.

This New Year's Day post is drawing attention to it being 30 years of the Spice Girls. Of course this is since their formation, not since they became known publicly. It makes me wonder if they're going to make 2024 an active and celebratory year for the group, rather than doing it in 2026. I mean, they can't really push the 30 years of Spice Girls thing twice... can they?

Anyway, let's manifest lots of worthwhile things from the girls this year!

2026 makes more sense for the 30th really.

If they were to revisit and potentially release some of the early Touch era tracks it’d be cool to make it this year though.

Does looks like it's gonnna be this year since they posted this. I'd rather have them do it now because who knows what will happen in two years.
And next year they can ride the Forever 25 train to sell more merch

Happy New Spicy Year BuzzJack girlies

Really hope they do something this year around the documentary release. A world tour seems ideal but I somewhat doubt it will be a massive one, unless Gerita ditches her books and Mel C scraps her album...

Im glad Spice Up Your Life is getting around, at least in 'media' terms. It is not translating into massive streams though, sadly apart from when itw as included in that Barbie soundtrack... I wish it would stream much more, specially as it has been featured in such massive things like Doctor Who which was a bit viral a couple of weeks ago.

Personaly I feel it should be more of a New Years Playlist staple than Wannabe ah... But then again, I think that about most of their uptempo singles LOL

SUYL was doing 120k after Doctor Who which is nearly double its average on Spotify.

It was only doing 100k-ish iirc during Barbie.

Oh really? I missed that entirely :teresa: It does need to get added to some big playlists though! Those Throwback playlists always do well to boost numbers, and it could do well there!

For a documentary 94-2024 makes more sense as they were active in 94-95 with footage and songs from that time.

So you have 94-2000, 2007-2008, 2012, 2018-2019, 2024 active years.

Mel B has been on US TV saying they will be 'releasing some good news' in a matter of weeks when talking about a reunion.

It felt like she was going to say releasing something then quickly covered herself by saying good news.

Either way I'm sure we are on for March 4th being a big day in some way.

Interesting... She said a few interesting things we haven't heard before...

Saying 'the gift that keeps on giving' sounds like the 'expect the unexpected' from back in 2007 reunion :o

And 'the fans will be 100% satisfied' is also quite a hint at something that we've been asking for for a while, but I feels very Mel B in the way that it does seem to alude to something we want but probably will never get (new music, or a tour lol)

Honestly I hope it is not just the documentary. <_<

The documentary with an album of unreleased material and 1 new song is my dream. Followed by a tour late in the year to take advantage of the exposure.

Honestly, Ive had hopes of a tour before since the Mels and Emma seemed to hint at one but I dont think Gerita is ready at all... there's just no rumours going about it either at the moment. Hopefully she comes around to it but damn, Im not sure. I'd love to be surprised though.

An expanded Greatest Hits and/or a Rarerities release would be amazing for sure. I'd also love LOVE a proper Live Album release though.

I hope for rarities album because a new album is not happening.

Some fans are suggesting they hope for a hologram show and I want to SCREAM :nono:

That would be the most pointless shite ever, worst than the hideous merch we get thrown every other month. They are all perfectly capable of doing a show today.

Go on tour, or do a one-off show with the REAL GIRLS. I will never pay for or support what is essentially a screening of a made up performance. Miss me with that shite.

That’s something for 20 years from now perhaps, but now, when the majority are still in their 40s… it would be laughable!
