100%!! I haven't known an act miss more opportunities in history!! Except maybe Katy P and Leona Lewis. They had s full pop album ready to in early '99, then an rnb/ dance one in 2000, followed by a farewell tour and We Are Family... We're talkin a potential 4-8 extra no 1s, sales, more legacy and more classics for their backcatalogue, for things like touring, streaming, MUSICALS...

Then they reformed to five us one new song and a GH and that was it... cancelled tours... etc

Anyway, according to this site, the evidence is "compelling" that Mel B splitting up with Geri is what broke the band up!!!

It will flop, they are not ABBA and need to stop thinking they are!

  • It's such a bad bad idea... And this was clearly planted by Simon and his team to see if there is any traction to it. Ive had a look and all comments everywhere seem very negative, so that should be a

It's a horrible idea at this point, it's simply far too early. By all means think about doing it in 2046... but not now!! They're only in their early 50s (or 49 x), there's really no valid excuses for

6 years ago (yesterday’s date) since the last time we saw the girls together as a 5 piece :drama:

Apart from May 1998 to June 2007, it’s otherwise the longest gap between seeing them all together.

Being a Spice fan is the most frustrating thing ever, honestly.... :cheeseblock:

They could have the world on their hands, but yet...

It's been goin on since 1998!! They were facin a market correcrion of their sales, but EVERY big act has gone through that - even Cheesy Fas ans Adele!! What you do then is cement your legacy, but no!! And it has jsut been them not caeing ever since and treating it as a hobby or side project, at best.
Seems like they only unfollowed each other, not actually blocked... let's see what happens over the next few weeks then
Let's just be glad that Mel C is still making music and keeping the spice vibe alive

Yes where would we be without Mel C djing some shitty festival or playing the same 10 track set at 90s fest for the last 3 years. Blessed to have that.

Honestly Mel C djing is exactly the same as Mel B doing another crappy tv job or Emma pushing the latest Kit&Kin product.

In the past 10 years they have released more books than albums between them.

shitty festival

Glastonbury is hardly a "shitty festival". She has been playing some of the biggest festivals in the world in the past few years.

What's more, her DJing is only one of the many aspects of her solo career.

Yes indeed and still managing decent material.

I'm sorry to you all, but I just can't get excited about any more Mel C music or DJ set

Group or nada, so I guess it's nada

Yet you'll still get excited on Friday when Emma announces a Free Me reissue on vinyl + making it streamable worldwide.

Glastonbury was good for her, she was still in some back tent DJing though.

She has the odd good job but honestly you know deep down inside travelling all the way to Australia to dj some festivals no one has heard of isn't something to celebrate.

She's booked at low level events mainly, so are Emma and Mel B with low level TV stuff, radio or presenting jobs.

It is just nothing to be excited about and pretending like it is anything more is daft.

Claire Richards and Louise get booked and play low level stuff and release music, that is the sort of level Mel is on (actually Claire seems to do better than Mel C).

She played Glastonbury two years in a row. She didn't just DJ.

You haven't heard about them because you are not Aussie.

The fact she travels all the way to Australia just goes to show these gigs are paying well for her. She was on the same bill with Jax Jones. I wouldn't sniff at it.

Not really. Their schedule isn't half as busy as Melanie's. Melanie travels all around the world, to Europe, South America, Canada, the States and Australia. They don't.

Also, have you seen their Spotify statistics?

Do they get invited to perform at The Royal Variety? I think not.

The fact Claire's recent album charted higher doesn't mean a lot. She had more formats, some of them were discounted. And you know that selling albums pays less than playing live.

Claire was doing things like Hyde park and Mighty Hoopla was she not?

Either way my point is, Emma having a radio show pays the bills, loads of other D listers have radio shows too. I'm not going to big it up or pretend it is bigger than it is.

Melanie C fans just have a hard time admitting a vast majority of her gigs are for cheques and not exciting or mean she has some major career. What Mel C does do is hustle, she does any and everything (she once DJ's a students union and did that Wimbledon gig in the states that no one went to). I'm sure Emma could get a load of presenting gigs like Loose Women, do more radio and so on but she is just lazy and does enough to keep herself comfortable.

Mel B hustles too but most of it is still boring or trash.

I just always think to myself if this gig that any of them do was by some Only way is Essex woman, Katie Price or Claire Richards would I think wow what a career you have and when the answer is no I'm not going to big up solo projects for the sake of it.

I am of course happy they are earning money to live as they please just not interested in feigning interested in those jobs

  • 2 weeks later...

Victoria gave a firm “I’m not doing a reunion” response when asked about the 30th anniversary. From about 17:00 in: https://open.spotify.com/episode/49BOxgOW1t...hQl6QXscT8wb53g

The way she preemptively responded “no” about a Spice Girls question before realising that she’d been asked about the existence of a group chat rather than a reunion, lol.
