It’s not accusations though is it? Both Melanie C and Geri have talked openly about Mel B bullying them and actually Mel B herself has admitted that she bullied Melanie C in her Catch A Fire autobiography and used it as an opportunity to formally apologise.

 

I’m not saying this is a bullying instance but it’s not an biased lazy accusation that she did it in the past.

I am sorry to hear of your past experiences, I was the same, I still have to use cubicles in toilets rather than urinals after it got so bad they would wait for me to go to the toilet to come in and get me meaning I wouldn't go to the toilet all day at school. At least it has made me able to hold it for ages now, every cloud I guess. :lol:

And just can’t stop attacking her time and time again. Geri may not be the person she was close to in the 90s but that’s life people change. I’m sure much of what Mel does and says irritates her and the others constantly but they keep a dignified silence as they aren’t bullies.

 

 

Ironically I saw a post on Instagram and it was also shared by Simon Ellis - it was the Westlife tour which is taking place in China and has only three members performing and they are using the band name.

 

Technically could Mel B, Emma and Melanie C use the name ‘Spice Girls’. I’ve totally accepted Victoria will never join for a full on tour, be it the UK or worldwide, but for me it has to be at least four of them.

 

Even if the three of them made music or performed of course I would support it.

If Mel B and Geri met for the first time now I'm sure Mel B would not like Geri at all. She can see straight through the fake act Geri puts on and Mel B cant help herself now and again showing her feelings on current Geri.

 

Though to be fair if Geri wasn't a Spice Girl I'd think she was a complete idiot and she is verging on it any way. The wearing white is pathetic and it is boring everyone just ignoring it like a huge elephant in the room.

The bias thing I was refering to schizo_spice's use of the word, as they are clearly using them just to attack Mel and defend Geri.

So basically we have Westlife and Take That performing worldwide tours with just 3 members??? :blink: I mean, on their best day I cant distinguish between the members of Westlife, and I cant remember the names of the Take That members beyond Robbie and Gary.

 

But honestly I think sadly the Spice Girls are on a different league here. They are not like the groups above that are quite faceless and interchangable between them. The Spice Girls are about the individual flavours.

 

It's not just the 'brand' that sells, like those two above it. It is the group together, individually represented that always generates the buzz and interest. Because they sold themselves as all being so different and unique, and all of them being essential to the group, I think tehy would be more in danger of achieving that.

 

Plus, lets not forget the sexism.

 

But yes, ultimately I would be interested in they do a tour that is the three of them doing solos and then also some Spice songs. Or if they COMMIT to the group as a trio, recording and touring all the time like the two 'boring' bands mentioned above.

There is also the fact the other groups have vastly bigger discographies and longer careers as bands than the girls do, faceless or not.

 

Tbh I'm not really a Take That fan but I think anyone claiming their tours are just old men standing around is quite ridiculous as they are known for putting on huge shows with incredible staging, and in their younger days they certainly had a lot of charisma on the stage with their routines etc.

We are in the middle of a renaissance of touring right now, it has never been as profitable and successful in pop music specially with pop female acts. They could easily break a £200million box office tour with Stadiums across the world, in a matter of months. Why is the anger only at Geri though, and not Mrs Beckham? All of the girls were essential to the band, but Geri was the worst in the combination of singing, dancing and performance. In 2019, I found her difficult to watch. Maybe she's acquired same self-awareness that Victoria seems to bask in, and so feels she can't possibly return to performing? At the end of the day, you can't force people into doing what they do not want to do

That said, I am not aware of any evidence to suggest Melanie B is trying to force Geri to join in the reunion. She can be frustrated about it - that's within her right. She only shared a post suggesting a trio reunion - that's harmless. Yes she named Geri Denying - lots of reasons come to mind - some of which are convincing enough. I don't think that's bullying. It's her Northern humour, and Mel B being the realest b*tch that she is (not in a bad way), who says it exactly as it is.

I will gladly buy tickets to watch Emma + The Mels performing old spice girls songs or new music by them three.

In fact, if all five aren't joining in a touring reunion, I'd rather have the three that can sing and perform than have any four. And if I have to take four, I'd have Victoria over Geri. They already have an album as that four, so that would still be some relatable semblance of the past . Still love Geri regardless.
