I think this song will go top 40 in the UK! It's so infectious and catchy.

John Lundvik rather overperformed in the end. Shame for Saga to come last, especially after she won her heat last week on the age voting thing (but most likely Scarlet had the most votes overall).

Dolly Style did very well, I didn't expect the juries to rank them so high.

Also Maja actually slayed the public vote a bit in 6th. The juries completely robbed her, she didn't deserve bottom two.

  • Adding onto what's been said already, I think there's a sliding scale between "novelty" and "camp" where at one end you've got those late 00s entries where people had stopped caring/treated the whole

  • Yeah I agree and at the core of it, Eurovision should be fun! Imagine if it was all songs like Revolution or just a load of ballads, obviously some of the ballads are great, there’s some great pop son

  • I don’t understand such a polarising response to this song. It’s always been a popularity contest and a SHOW where countries chase trends and try to one up the other. Nothing changed, it just became a

Absolutely ecstatic, I’m not entirely surprised as it did just feel like nobody was arsed about Revolution, but I did think the juries would just seal its victory. It just goes to show the public are probably fed up of autopilot Swedish generic pop. Bara bada bastu feels very culturally Swedish (even though they are Finnish), due to the genre as Epadunk is a huge thing in Sweden, and it’s culturally Finnish in the subject matter, but most of all this is what Eurovision should be about - it’s fun. It’s full of joy and catchy, but it’s performed well and crafted well. And as much as I obviously loved Tattoo so that aside, Swedish entries haven’t been that striking or inspiring for me in absolutely years (I’ve liked most of them, but not loved them), it’s so refreshing to have them send this,

I think this might be my winner now, either way Finland runs my top 2, I do have all eyes on Louane though I think she could overtake but a Finnish top 2 for me feels correct!!

Maybe I’m just caught up in stanning the song but I feel like this will do just as well if not better as a Revolution autopilot might have done?! There’s a lot of televote grabbing songs but this is going to absolutely STOMP the televote with casual viewers.

Looking at the major newspapers in Sweden, aftonbladet and expressen, it looks like Måns is taking all the attention. He was seen leaving in tears, kicked some stuff, changed clothes and came back. He was quite bitter in an interview, complaining about the international juries.

I don't find any enjoyment in the KAJ song at all personally but I'll let y'all have this one after I had Marcus & Martinus last year x

I preferred the Mans song but I wasn't invested in it enough to feel super disappointed that it lost, either. Glad Klara and Dolly Style got great results but last place for Saga felt harsh!

Not massive on any of the top 3… Glad Klara and Dolly Style made it to top 5! Still the worst esc since I can remember 😂

It was my first time following Melodifestivalen and I really enjoyed it. I'm disappointed by KAJ winning which I felt didn't deserve to be in the final.

Having said that it's going to be popular at Eurovision like a lot of the stupid/fun songs are and it definitely will pick up votes from the UK.

Really hope this means future Melodifestivalen editions are going to be filled with fresh sounds and less of the mid stuff, because honestly so done with so-called "established" artists having a spot in the final with mid af stuff

Not a fan of the winner, but at least I got Meira and Klara's songs to add to my playlist. cheeseblock

I really hope so! As I’ve said earlier in the thread, I have fallen out of love with Melfest when we just get the same few sterile pop songs from the same kinds of artists, this year I feel already even aside from BBB has been a step in the right directions in terms of being more varied.

Also KAJ got the most votes ever in Melfest so it’s clear it’s caught on in Sweden, and the public are at least somewhat receptive to something different, and even the juries kind of penalised Måns (compared to the sweep we all probably expected) so I think it is time for a rethink. I think Greczula also points in the right direction, kinda different for Melfest and none of the songwriters, including Greczula himself, have ever written for Melfest before.

Wow!!! Entitled much? Imagine how he would have been WITHOUT media training!! Loredele lost, and withba far supieror song, may I add, one thst COULD have won the entire EV - espexcally in 2017! - and she just accepted it and came back lster. What an entitled manchild!!

Also, it is now SUPER easy to share youtube videos omg!! Love it.

Shame Dolly Style flopped with voters, but I guess everyone was voting for Baka Baku, in order to stop the Mans generic machine. His fans were all over the internet, calling him Mans the Man, but they ended up with egg on their faces!!

I’m not sure if anyone will agree with me, as I like the song but didn’t find it amazing at first. However, after watching the performances, does anyone else think Life Again could have been incredible jury bait this year? The anthemic nature of it—especially when the dancers come out—feels like something that could have randomly placed around 8th overall at ESC.

Giving "What a sad little life Jane" teas!!

Be disappointed, it's obviously going to be gutting, but don't be a whiny little b*tch in the process LMAO! I really liked him before but his reaction to all of this has soured him for me a little tbh.

I did feel bad for his much hate he was getting just for entering (when plenty of former winners have entered too, and so many artists have entered loads of times) but he seems now like he genuinely thinks he has some divine right to represent Sweden just because he won Eurovision before. KAJ won convincingly with the highest votes ever at Melfest and there really was no stopping that, and they were nearly equal with the jury. Revoution ] just wasn’t that good or that inspiring, it’s not good enough to stage a mid pop song well when it’s such a strong year with contenders like KAJ, Greczula and Dolly Style having songs that really stood out in their own ways. I don’t even think it deserved second amongst this field so I don’t know why he’s acting like it should have been a done deal just because he won Eurovision before.

Look at Loreen coming back in 2017 and not even making the final, same with Charlotte Perrelli and Carola who have won Eurovision before and later failed to even make the final. Sometimes it’s just the wrong song at thst time, it is what it is.

John Lundvik is similarly being a sore loser which is hilarious because he came a hell of a lot higher than anyone thought like… he cannot believe he was even remotely going to win lol

The KAJ song is catchy, but I think it's far too novelty for me and was in my bottom half of the 12 choices. I appreciate that Sweden have gone for something out of their comfort zone with a song that isn't in English and a bit of a comedy entry. I just think it's a shame that Eurovision seems to be going down the route of "what is going to go viral on social media for us?" like everything else in the world right now. The last two years the Eurovision final has been about a traditional good Eurovision song/performance vs a catchy novelty song and novelty has finished 2nd. Could Sweden take the novelty song to the top? There'd be something ironic about Sweden winning with a Finnish inspired novelty act.
