Posted August 23, 2024Aug 23 We got a lot of Steps vinyl releases lately. I was wondering if this is good enough or if we would like more releases on vinyl? For me: • Another RSD release would be fun! A ‘5,6,7.8’ or ‘Tragedy’ release could really work in my opinion. Or a ‘Baby don’t dance’ edition! • I don’t think the other GH would add something for me. • Maybe a Light up the world release to have all their studio albums on vinyl. Then with a special campy version of the album. Edited August 23, 2024Aug 23 by Lee_his_cheeks
August 23, 2024Aug 23 Light Up The World maybe but it’ll definitely be an £8 reduced Amazon buy from me. I didn’t like that the DSOB release was so expensive so I’d rather they kept away from single releases.
August 23, 2024Aug 23 I'd quite like the LUTW just to complete all the Steps vinyls, but I'll never play it lol. Honestly can't believe they missed out on the chance to do a big camp pop Christmas album and instead gave us that dreary boring album.
August 23, 2024Aug 23 I think the Light Up the World album is the result of their collective headspace in 2012 being that they should be mature (even though they were only 35 to 37 at the time!). At least they got that out of their systems on a Christmas album - it could have been a bit tragic if they'd tried to be "serious Steps" on an album of brand new original music! Thankfully something must have clicked with them eventually, to come back with Tears on the Dancefloor. I wouldn't mind having Light Up the World on vinyl simply to have every studio album of theirs on vinyl, but I can't see it happening. It was released by "Steps Music" which might make it more complicated than if it had been released by a major label. The vinyl releases of their first three albums didn't sell a tremendous amount, so I can't see Steps going to great lengths to bother with Light Up the World. I'd be happy with other random releases from them, as long as they're not £30 picture discs. :kink: I wish BMG could have taken on the rights of Tears on the Dancefloor and reissued the vinyl, because the pressings are poor sound quality.
August 23, 2024Aug 23 Light up the world vinyl purely to have all albums on vinyl would be nice. I'd be all for another RSD release and 5,6,7 8 would be perfect but they need to lower the price. I'd love a physical cd or vinyl or both for the singles since they reformed.
August 25, 2024Aug 25 Author I agree the DSOB was pricey..didn’t stop me from buying (but that’s me being the Steps geek I am) I did enjoy the release though so I would be up for another single release. Do we think Light up will be released on vinyl? I have a feeling they won’t as their are back on the campy Steps side. And I would love a WTFH complete single collection
August 25, 2024Aug 25 I'd be surprised if we got a light up the world vinyl as they kinda distance themselves from the album.
September 1, 2024Sep 1 Author True! And it’s far from their best material so I’m good. I’m happy we got their first 3 albums this year, that was the most important to me

September 2, 2024Sep 2 Yes the first 3 on vinyl was great to get as we waited a long time for them. Its hard to know what they will do next as while i would love some physical single boxsets but i know the chances of that happening is slim to nothing.
September 16, 2024Sep 16 Me too and whenever the do get back recording and releasing new music id love them to release a cd and vinyl of the lead single at the least and ideally all singles, back in the day they always did 2 physical formats so they should try it out again.
September 29, 2024Sep 29 With them aware of their fanbase physical support I am surprised they have not tried the physical single route.
October 6, 2024Oct 6 Author Me too. Though I do wonder if it’s profitable enough for them/the record company.
