The harsh daylight setting is intentional and works - she is battling with herself and her anxieties in broad daylight, in front of the world. The world watches on as she struggles, the cars keep driving past.

I love the video - it's horrifying yet beautiful. The claustrophobic scenes at the end are tough to watch! It's quintessential classic Gaga and exactly what I wanted.

The teaser song playing in the car? :o

I've always loved Disease. MAYHEM is such a good album, and this remains my favourite on it. So glad that people are coming around to it now!

This is a MUST watch. The creativity and choreography is amazing, and certainly is one of the best fan mades I’ve seen that uses Gaga’s song and inspiration? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJ4Zqu5I5I

Another fantastic video, she never fails to deliver! Really hope this help boots the song
Oh wow wow wow!! This has actually sort of made me emotional in a way which feels strange for what kind of visual / song this is but this is perfect visually for me. There’s so many references in there but it’s such a Gaga esque video in the best ways. Im gonna need several rewatches but its kind of like every era of Gaga and even Stefani feature in some form and I think it being set where it is and in daylight on what looks like a summers day almost adds to the genius. It’s not what I pictured but it’s different within the best way and she really sells it. I think this is her first major video where she’s the only one in it as well yet she sells it. Her theatricality is insane!

Lady Gaga Has A Fashion “Disease” – And I Don’t Want The Cure

Oh, we are so back. Lady Gaga has released the highly-anticipated music video for “Disease,” the newest single off LG7 – her forthcoming seventh studio album. And boy did Mother Monster deliver: Gaga served up a twisted fashion fantasy that was equal parts glamorous and grotesque, harking back to the dark-pop era aesthetic she channelled during The Fame Monster era more than a decade ago. But let’s get into the video, shall we?

Sharing her inspiration for the track on her Instagram Stories earlier today, Gaga shared that “Disease” is a song about grappling with your own demons and illnesses. “I think a lot about the relationship I have with my own inner demons. It’s never been easy for me to face how I get seduced by chaos and turmoil,” Gaga wrote. “Disease is about facing that fear, facing myself and my inner darkness, and realising that sometimes I can’t win or escape the parts of myself that scare me.” The video, then, served as a continuation of this idea – with Gaga facing off against various ghoulish versions of herself, a battle of the evil versus the extremely evil.

Of course, this being a Gaga video, her macabre costumes had to be avant-garde – and completely fabulous. If her eerie wardrobe is a disease, we simply do not want the cure. Playing a masked villain of sorts, Gaga emerges wearing a gimp mask with a long, black, ruffled overcoat and extra-long steel fingernails. She runs over herself wearing a sweet floral-print nightgown, as though she is preying on a sweeter, more innocent version of herself.

Later in the video, she walks all over her own body double – literally, with both bodies clothed in minimalist white crop tops and briefs. Next she grapples with herself yet again, this time as the walls close in on her while wearing a dip-dyed ombré mesh dress that, again, toys between the light and the dark. That’s the genius of Gaga, isn’t it? Everything she wears is intentional and a nod back to the lyrics. Now, Little Monsters, join me and put your paws up – because this is one of the best videos of the year.

A great article! :gaycat:

Love that airplay update!

Also still way over 2 million on Spotify and with the video an increase tomorrow perhaps?

EDIT: It did a RISE in my country, #45 (+1)!

Perfect video. :bratcheeseblock:

She with that black wig has me on my knees! I liked that the video was shot during the day, it makes the video more vibrant and the looks clearer, also, we already got a Halloween-themed video shot at night - John Wayne - so I liked that she didn't repeat the formula.

That video - and song - were terrible

I'll.allow song, but that video was the first properly decent one she'd done in quite a long time!

Down to #6 in the UK mids. At least Tyler will overtake and maybe others too. Hope it can stay in top ten.

Should be fine for top 10 Friday with the youtube streams boost I believe. It's started climbing Apple Music again, up to #12.
