Hello and welcome to my (formally One_For_Sorrow) Kylie Minogue Single's Rank.

Please let me know if I've missed off any singles and please feel free to make some predictions and comment along with me. :) (P.S. I hope you all like my name change for the occasion) :)

Looking forward to this! :cheer: (and love the name change).

Can’t wait to see what you think - I’m predicting from the name change that some singles from the masterpiece Impossible Princess might feature high.

Interested to see where some fan favourites end up too!

I avoided using a singles in my username to avoid that thought.

On the clue from no comment. but I wanted to use something that fitted the character limit and at least made a little sense.

Loving the name!

I'd seen it a few times but didn't twig it was you

Thanks! I wanted to change it to something that fitted in with the rank. :)

Love the new name and also really looking forward to this.

Thanks!

I'll be hoping to start this in the next 24hrs or so. Any predictions? Anything surprises? (songs making or missing the top 10/20/30)

Given there's 72 songs I'll be revealing 2x batches of 6 which will bring me to a top 60, then batches of 5 until we hit the top 20. I think I'll do 3 after that until I hit the top 5, then just individually.

Interested to see where songs that seem to split the fanbase (I Was Gonna Cancel / Kids / Where Is The Feeling etc) end up - plus fan favourites such as The One.

First batch about to come. There won't be to much commentary until we hit the top 50, but I'll try and offer a bit for each section.

72. Kiss Of Life
71. A Second To Midnight (with Years & Years)
70. Real Groove
69. I Was Gonna Cancel
68. Dancing Queen (Live)
67. Kids (with Robbie Williams)

I last place, in fact the last three places I have singles from Kylie's 2020 album Disco, by no means are any of them bad songs, I just felt none of them left much of an impression of me. I Was Gonna Cancel isn't as bad as I remember it being but still not one I'm keen on. I can remember Dancing Queen getting a radio push around mid to late 1999. I remember sitting in a supermarket carpark on Christmas Eve and hearing it on the radio, so it gets a few nostalgia points for that. Closing out this section at #67 is Kylie's duet with Robbie Williams, Kids featured on both of their 2000 albums and was a favourite of my sisters, so much so she had the single. Me on the other hand? Well as you've noticed I'm sadly not a fan.

By no means are any of these songs flat out terrible, I guess there just ones that haven't clicked with me yet. After all I'm fairly new to Kylie's back catalogue.

And we are off, nice you see some of your results and rankings,

I do like Kids, i think it suffers with fans due to it been overused on tours so its one of those songs that needed a break but i like the song, its from an incredible album though.

Dancing queen live, i enjoy but it doenst really move away from the original at all but still enjoyable.

I was gonna cancel, not my cup of tea and should never have been a single although id say it was only picked hoping to work on the back of Pharell been so huge at the time but i really think they should have went with something else.

Real Groove, this is the first real real surprise of your results, i really like this alot, should have done better as a single but a song i still listen to alot.

Both A second to midnight and kiss of life never really clicked with me, out of the 2 i prefer kiss of life but i dont ever go back to them intentionally.

I must admit I haven’t given the Disco album much time apart from listening to it earlier in the year and then the single for this. It may be one that grows on me.

I found disco pretty instant as an album I just enjoyed it from first listen and fell in love straight away with celebrate you.

I had high hopes for real groove, high as in make the top 40 rather than huge hit as I honestly think if the song was released by someone like Dua Lipa it would have been a big hit.

Real Groove and ASTM are two of her best !!

I have a feeling there may be more shocks or surprises coming.

I might need to give Disco another listen, as it does seem quite popular.

Disco is definitely worth a few more listens plus its nice upbeat feel good album.

I feel it hit lost amongst her other albums when I did the listen through at the start of the year. I also did the Guest List Edition which added to its length.

Aw, harsh result for 'Kiss Of Life'. It sounds like actual disco, unlike the album titled it which is mostly wishy-washy dance pop (although KOL was produced by Jessie's producers so that's probably why)
