Good to see giving you up get a fairly decent result as I do like ut even though its not hugely popular with fans and apparently with Kylie either.

I’ve got find memories being at the football on a Friday night and listening to my pocket radio and hearing Giving You Up, so it’s got a bit of nostalgia attached to it for me.

35. Word Is Out
34. Stop Me From Falling
33. Where The Wild Roses Grow (with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds)
32. Give Me Just A Little More Time
31. Come Into My World

Kicking things off at #35 is Word Is Out, the first single from the album Let's Get To. When listening to the album for the first time at the start of the year I was surprised how much I enjoyed the majority of the singles from it. I don't think I've ever seen it discussed here, so to me it seems like a forgotten album. On the track itself though I like the styling of it quit a bit. Stop Me Falling was an instant highlight for when I first heard it in 2018, in fact it has the honour of being the song the got me back into Kylie Minogue for the first time in close to a decade, so it'll always be one I think of fondly. My first clear memory of Where The Wild Roses Grow the duet with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds is when it featured on the PS2 game SingStar 90's, my brother and sister use to select it a fair bit. That in turn brought back faint memories I have from around 1995/96 and hearing it when it was a single but I didn't realise who Kylie Minogue was then. For a fair while Give Me Just A Little More Time was my favourite song from Let's Get To It, but it dropped a bit as I went further into Kylie's singles discography, still a great song though. Finally just missing out on a place in the top 30 is the final single from massive 8th studio album Fever. I can remember when Come Into My World was first released towards the end of 2002 and I thought it was ok but a little bit of a come down from the two proceeding singles earlier in the year. I'm more on board with it now though.

Kylie Minogue - 2

Impossible Princess - 3

Fever - 2

Body Language - 3

Greatest Hits/Other - 1

Golden has lost it's last single and now the oldest studio album that has a single left is 2010's album Aphrodite.

'Giving You Up' is a big fave of mine, but I do generally love Xenomania so it's no surprise (same with its B-side 'Made of Glass')

I can't see her even acknowledging that song again, devastatingly. I'm still reeling from it being the only top 10 hit left off the 3-disc GH compilation. :(

Made Of Glass is really good, I can remember Australian radio use to play it quite a bit, same with Fever (album track) back in the day.

I understand the lack of love for CGYOOMH as I have never been keen on it, but #44????

And... Padam, All The Lovers, I Believe in You? None Top 30?

This thread does make me want to do my own list to see how they compare

Edited by ChrisJK

There was a period of 10-15 years where I couldn't bear to listen to CGYOMH because of how overplayed it was, but I've since come to re-appreciate it and enjoy it like I used to. It is a stroke of absolute genius and still sounds fresh (like most of Fever)

Havig said that, I still think it'd rank somewhere similarly for me overall!

Happy to see I’m not the only one in this regard. It’s not a horrible song by any stretch, just not one of her best for me.

There are only about 5 or 6 singles in Kylie's whole discography I can think of that I actively dislike (although there's a few middling ones too)

I agree I think. Surprisingly enough some of the ones at the bottom here would move up a bit for me. For the ones I’m really familiar with there’s a few I don’t really like.

40. Shocked I do like shocked and probably like it more now than i used to but its by far my least fave ROL single

39. Dancing I do like this, when i initially heard it i was nt sold but once i saw it performed live it really got me into the song

38. Padam Padam I do like this aswell, i loved what it done for Kylie but think some far better songs that charted lower deserved the success it achieved but i think i like the song more now than before

37. Giving You Up Big fan of this, its often overlooked but a song i always enjoyed, loved it on the showgirl tour.

36. I Believe In You Another good one that i still enjoy, i wish kylie kept going with a full album based on this and giving you up

35. Word Is Out A song i never fully got into for years but really got to like it and appreciate it more in later years,

34. Stop Me From Falling Initially i didnt like this as much as other fans but i do really like it now but still prefer dancing and musics too sad with you

33. Where The Wild Roses Grow (with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) Career changing song and made people see kylie differently and the song itself is excellent

32. Give Me Just A Little More Time Surprised to see this rated above some of the other songs, i do like it though and it was a a great chart recovery in the lets get to it era

31. Come Into My World Another song i prefer now to when it was released and kylie seems to have a new love for it lately

30. What Kind Of Fool (Heard It All Before)
29. In My Arms
28. Tears On My Pillow
27. Locomotion
26. Please Stay

Kicking off the top 30 is the lead single from Kylie's first greatest hits album. I'm not really sure what the consensus is on What Kind Of Fool (Heard It All Before) but for me it does the job well of rounding out the PWL era, not the best single she had under them but probably not the worst either. I quite enjoyed it. In My Arms is one I found a little tricky to place but it's certainly my second favourite single from X, even if I prefer some of the album tracks more. Tears On My Pillow was pleasant but doesn't quite match the highs of the remaining earlier singles for me. The single that started it all Locomotion finishes at a respectable #27, whilst it's far from her best it does get point for launching it all off. Closing off this section is Please Stay, which I get the impression isn't a huge fan favourite and whilst I did place it this high I can think of two or three other album tracks from Light Years I'd have preferred to be a single over this. I still do like it though.
