September 25, 2024Sep 25 I wonder if he could sell out Wembley Stadium. He's done the arenas for years.

December 3, 2024Dec 3 Author Murs has dropped a small screen recording on his Insta Stories today of him typing out an iPhone note saying the following: "ALBUM 8 : 2025 😜" I do wonder if he'll go for Q1 or Q2 this time to release?

February 14Feb 14 Author Just shared on his Instagram Stories that he's signed a new record deal today with BMG. Looks like new music isn't too far away then!
February 17Feb 17 Are BMG a good record label for him, do we think? Of course, I imagine he manages his expectations these days when it comes to chart success anyway, but obviously you want to get as much out of the album campaign as you can. I would like him to have another hit, even if it's just a top 40 single.

I would like him to have another hit, even if it's just a top 40 single. I mean it's hard to say at this stage, but I do think BMG is where he should have gone on the last album. Mainly because they handle the distribution side of things more and make those more accessible whilst allowing more creative and promotional freedom to the artist, which was something that EMI definitely didn't give him on Marry Me. Obviously Kylie Minogue is a good example of someone who BMG have done wonders with - her last three albums have all been released with them and all have gone to number one. I'd say he's got a stronger chance of it doing better than the last album provided they get all the elements right - and crucially, that the new material is better than the last album, because it was essentially a three or four track EP of good songs buried in a load of filler. February 17Feb 17 I thought he already was with BMG, but maybe I'm confusing that with people saying he should have signed with them for his last release.
February 18Feb 18 I feel bad for him in terms of how the Marry Me roll-out went. While the album did go to #1, I thought the backlash he received for both "I Hate You When You're Drunk" and the sign-language video was unfair and probably deterred him a bit. Hopefully he's able to do more of what people know him for on this next album - feels like a while since he went into the big summery pop that worked well for him back in the day.

April 25Apr 25 Author So... tour kicked off last night in Plymouth. And he only casually dropped a brand new song for the first time! It's called "Save Me". I've heard a very small snatch of it on socials and it's really promising, it's a bit of a hark back to the ska / reggae pop feel of the first album. Looks as if it'll be the first single off the new album so not long to wait!InstagramDawn Gillingwater on Instagram: "What an opening night @o...6 likes, 0 comments - dawnio21 on April 24, 2025: "What an opening night @ollymurs @plymouthpavilions . April 25Apr 25 Author Just seen on his Insta Stories he's had to postpone the next two shows in Brighton and Hull this weekend owing to a sickness bug he and half his band have come down with. What an absolute mare, hope he and everyone feels better soon!
April 25Apr 25 I like the sound of that song. I would love to see him have at least one more hit, even if he just pushes physical singles or something.
