It’s definitely got jazzy vibes, but also pop, rock, blues, musical theatre etc. I’m actually loving this on first listen. She sounds incredible!

Quite expected reviews!

3/5 seems fair to be honest. It reminds me of Madonna’s I’m Breathless in so much as it is fine for the link to the film and plays like a musical soundtrack, but isn’t realistically going to be something I return to often

That's a really good comparison actually! I doubt it's going to be a longstanding staple of my listening habits and not sure it'll impact charts much anywhere too but for what it is, and a surprise release, passion project, it's brilliant.

I was expecting Cheek 3 Cheek tbh, it definitely has more Gaga to it with flecks of theatre and rock. I can’t see me returning to it a huge amount but it is a lovely surprise project.

Didn't hear anything about this album until this morning, but it's worth it for Happy Mistake. It's giving me Creep vibes in a good way.

 

Some of the standards are what they were, I like them in the background and she performs them brilliantly, just like the albums with Tony.

 

Really liking The Joker and Folie à Deux, Zoe Birkett remains definitive for Get Happy :lol:

I don’t think this is as bad as everyone is making out? Sure, it’s not my thing, but she sounds great and there’s a few bops here!

I am seeing a lot more positivity than negativity! Even the Jazz nay-sayers are liking parts of it.

It's not bad at all, it's quite enjoyable to listen to as a whole in one sitting and The Joker is very good the first half of the album is glorious takes a dip then it is mediocre. I just think this album has a bit of everything so some like what others don't lile visa versa.

It's just that people expected something like outlandish indie rock I guess? But as soon as the tracklist was revealed, it was going to be this fusion of different classic pop genres.
