Given that Human has already won twice, would it not be a little unfair to disqualify the repeats on the basis that we never did earlier?

I do take that point. I guess it needs another poll haha.

“Murder On The Dancefloor” has won twice as well and it just feels a bit of a shame when songs like that take winning spots from smaller hits. At the same time they are great songs so it’s difficult to vote them out. Obviously when this was kicked off we’d have had no idea it was going to run so far, so maybe it’s OK to change the rules a bit now but happy to go with the majority.

I don't think it's unfair as such. Assuming the songs are typically those that are released at the end of the year so sales are split over two, then arguably those tracks already have an advantage first time around as their placing in the year end is lower than their true popularity from the time and thus they probably already ended up against a less successful batch of songs that they would have done.

Having said that, fairness either way is probably not the thing that should influence the choice - it's more a case of what people would rather see in the next batch. Personally I'm not a fan of the same songs popping up again when they've already been included and typically I tend to try and vote them out. But obviously others may not agree and enjoy seeing them compete again - so if the majority like having them in then absolutely fair enough.

I still think it’d be unfair to exclude. Yes, some have won twice but some didn’t get to win the first time either.
