Live While We're Young was definitely "let's do What Makes You Beautiful again" but it's a lot of fun!

There's something about Little Things that I find heartwarming but I can totally understand how it could be annoying to some! I think it being a #1 and a fairly long running success was a bit of a surprise.

Kiss You :cheeseblock: One of my major favourites! Deserved more than #9 but at least it hung around in the charts longer than One Thing.

It's hard to suggest One Way or Another is one of their most essential songs, and it being a #1 over some other hits of theirs hasn't aged that well, but I do love their fun take on this and bonus points for it being a mash-up and not just a direct cover.
I'm a huge Blondie fan so was already very aware of 'One Way or Another'. Unfortunately didn't think much of 1D's cover, felt far too sanitized compared to Blondie's. It gets better towards the end though after the 'Teenage Kicks' bit and the energy picks up more.

This song has aged like a fine wine, it's absolutely one of their best. Harry briefly included it in his last tour setlist - he simply sang "and we danced all night..." and let the crowd finish the rest of the chorus while he ran from the B-stage to the main stage between songs  the crowd went wild for that scrap of 1D, and rightfully so!
Best Song Ever :cheer: Deffo one of their best singles
'Best Song Ever' is a big highlight! The lyrics just roll off the tongue and is just a whole lot of fun.
'Story of My Life' is their best song up to now. I can remember this being a "cool" 1D song to like whereas before they were guilty pleasures. Still sounds fantastic today. A career peak for sure!

I think 1D are a little similar to the Spice Girls in a way, with their signature song (WMYB and Wannabe respectively) being a fun catchy uptempo, but both more than proved themselves with ballads too when many pop groups don't quite deliver when the pace is slowed down. Story of My Life is a gorgeous track, another song very worthy of being among their most well known. Even more poignant now too.

One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks) was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me at the time! It didn't really remain an essential part of their catalogue for me though.

Best Song Ever was a strong way to kick off the third album era. A banger!

Story of My Life was always a huge favourite for me, gorgeous song. Perhaps my favourite overall actually? Deserved a week at #1! My mum loved this one too. 💔

10 Story of My Life

The video and song are beautiful!

As soon as it became apparent that Midnight Memories was the new single, I just knew it wasn't the right choice... yet I didn't think it would misfire to the extent of only managing to get to #39!! :drama:

I actually like the song, but it really should have remained as an album track.

This was their only real misfire, a #39 peak :o I can't believe we went from two huge #2 hits to being grateful for a top 40 peak

I do like this, but it should've remained an album track really. Don't Forget Where You Belong could've been a better single choice but then the era would've been a bit too ballad heavy.

Seems odd seeing their chart history and this only reaching #39, but I don't remember it 'feeling' like a single at the time for some reason. Definitely the most rocky single they had done up to now.
Not their best single for me

I agree with this, the one direction songs I tend to like the most are their ballads. Story of my life is stunning
