I have been thinking about this for sometime...

Picture it, it's 2025 and a young girl sicilian peasant girl..um...a young girl from Melbourne Australia, Kylie Ann Minogue releases a remake of "Locomotion"...

We know what happened bewteen 1988 and 2008

But what if I could step back in time and rebuild her career based on the data of the UK streaming Market in 2024?

It would take time and an awful lot of data, it isn't just her data, but everyone elses data during her chart runs. it would mean breaking done the sales of each week of those charts and extropalating them to the current Streaming Market.

It would not be perfect, too many variables to make it so. (I'm beginning to sound like a cliche of tv shows :P )

It would take a lot of time and I would have to release the data bit by bit as I gather and process it.

My end goal is to develop Kylie's career as if she was a Streaming artist.

I have the foundations laid already...but only want to go ahead if people are interested..it's fun and has no historical value of course.

By the way, as of Week 6 "Locomtion 2025" has outsold the full known UK sales of "Locomotion 1988"

So my friend and I have been going forward with this and we will be starting it all with you in January 2025

We needed to revamp how we were doing it because of some interesting details, especially in the 1988 to 1994 period.

We found a lot of early Kylie songs that were major hits inside the official charts, also spent a lot of time outside the official charts but inside the top 100.

Quite a few have reached a certain level of certifacation, but this extra detail has given has a closer idea to where they are now concerning gold and plat status etc.

So we decided to incorparate all chart rules as they stand now, including the top 100 from 1988. There is a lot of data. We neede the PCM and we also needed the % of that week to put it forward under the new rules (which data shows some were done via stealth)

So in the first week of the new year we will post the top sales of her career in 1988..around 10 days later 1989 will be added..10 days later it will of reached a top 10 sales of 1990 and the top 10 sales overall. This will continue, including updating the sales of older songs as the year progresses

At the end of the year we will show all Sales as we believed they would of happened if 36 years of Kylie was streamimg/

Purely for charts/stats nerds. I have another side project that isn't quite so indepth and much more in reality, will share that soon.
