January 8Jan 8 James Blunt understandably hates You're Beautiful, at least performing it anyway. It must be difficult to have to perform the same song more than all your others I remember Toploader saying something to that affect about 'Dancing In The Moonlight'. I also saw Vanessa Carlton live and she came out and went 'Let's get this over with' before going straight into 'A Thousand Miles' At the same time, I've been to see Passenger a few times now and he always introduces 'Let Her Go' in a way that pays homage to what the song did for his life/his career and he makes it a moment between him and the audience. In a few weeks I'm seeing James Blunt live supported by Toploader, which is going to be double the fun knowing the above  The weirdest example of the life/career speech before playing The Big Hit was when I saw the band Daughtry in London a few years back, they did the whole spiel as above making me think, ok, here comes What About Now (by far their biggest UK hit and the one later covered by Westlife) and...they play #128 UK smash 'It's Not Over' instead  . What About Now never got played at all!! I guess because It's Not Over was their big US breakthrough where it charted at #4 there, and they just reused the same script for London even though it didn't really apply over here.
January 8Jan 8 I know for a while Hayley Williams disliked paramore’s ‘misery business’ and refused to play it despite it being a fan fave due to the “once a wh*re your nothing more line” as she said it didn’t align with her current views and disliked the slut shaming nature of the line but in recent years they have re added it to their playlist, she just holds the mic out to the crowd for that line. I gotta say thank god they’ve re started playing it as it’s one of my fave paramore songs and it got me so hyped before Taylor came on at the eras tour!
January 8Jan 8 It’s actually not just jesy, all 4 little mix girls have stated black magic is their least favourite in various different interviews. Alongside this they also all hate oops with Charlie Puth. IIRC it has something to do with Charlie trying to get with Jade and being a bit of a dick towards them all when she turned him down :kink:
January 9Jan 9 Kurt hated Teen Spirit Liam hates Wonderwall Elton hates Crocodile Rock Slash hates Sweet Child Of Mine Bowie hated most of his '80s work (he singled out Absolute Beginners, the Scary Monsters album and Loving the Alien as exceptions)

I went to see Lightning Seeds just before Christmas at Kentish Town Forum and Ian Broudie gave a similar speech right before they launched into "Three Lions" (although his was said with less fatigue, more happy acceptance).
January 11Jan 11 It must be difficult to have to perform the same song more than all your others I remember Toploader saying something to that affect about 'Dancing In The Moonlight'. Probably even worse when you didn't even write it as well
January 11Jan 11 Britney basically disowned Hold It Against Me, the way she never performed it after the 2011/2012.
January 14Jan 14 Robbie Williams has been saying on his press tour that he hates the lyrics to 'Millennium' and doesn't like performing it. I think it's one of his best songs! I'm a big Bond fan too so extra points for the video and the Nancy Sinatra sample.
January 19Jan 19 Both times I've seen Twenty One Pilots they've played Stressed Out as early as possible (usually the second song in the set) and sung it with basically no energy and a glum look on their face, which I feel like is their way of basically saying let's get this over with. Luckily my other fave of theirs 'Ride' does always get done properly.
January 19Jan 19 Heart hate All I Want To Do Is make Love To You cos of the lyrics. I saw them on tour that year and they didn't do it. Pretty sure Macca has never chosen to sing Mary Had A Little Lamb in any concert since 1972, ditto Give Ireland and C Moon and only the latter has ever appeared on any hits collection. Happily I bought Mary had A Little Lamb, which was great for kids. As was We All Stand Together, which I also bought. Pretty sure that one never gets done either!
January 20Jan 20 REM and “Shiny Happy People” is the one I always think of, which is a shame as it’s great! Not everything has to be deep and meaningful.
