Aww I’d have happily given both “5 Years’ Time” and “This Corrosion” a couple more if I’d known they’d be borderline. “Bullet In The Gun 2000” was in my votes too, one of my more recent picks haha.

 

As usual I’ve done terribly in this (but I do tend to prioritise older / less obvious stuff in the 1st round).

Wow, I was the only one giving any votes to Bloc Party’s wonderful Two More Years, I’m glad it’s got a wildcard!

 

I understand why many won’t have heard it before, it was their great ‘lost’ standalone single released after the Silent Alarm debut album in 2005 and was only added to streaming last year after going missing for 2 decades. Please give it a listen before the semi finals guys, see if you like it anything like as much as I do!

It's far from their best but they were a hugely important act in my youth.

I love Bloc Party and do know this song but it's not one my favourites of theirs. It'll probably make my votes in the semis though, seeing as a lot of my absolute faves have already fallen.

 

(It's still better than The Prayer, which along with Supermassive Black Hole is an example of one of my favourite bands getting their highest peak with my least favourite single they ever did!)
