but that was their best asset, they dropped the banjos for albums 3 & 4 and alienated half of the fanbase

Wow! That was an unexpected but welcome surprise.

I haven't heard much from these guys for a while but just given Malibu a listen and I'm enjoying it a lot! Very well thought-out lyrics.

I'm not too fussed with the second single, but really enjoying the title track currently - great to see it on Radio 1's A-list this week.

⭐ I give Rushmere a 4.5/10.

Honestly, I’m forcing myself to listen to it because I’ve bought tickets to see them in concert in Paris next November. But this track doesn’t excite me.

 

⭐ As for Malibu, I give it a 2.5/10.

It’s listenable, but it’s definitely not the kind of music I want to hear. To me, it feels like a waste of time, as the track feels way too long.

Album is number 1 in the mids on over 30k which is great for them after such a long break.
