Following the same structure used in the Dance and Electronic forum, we are going to run the same weekly poll for new indie and alternative releases in 2025. Each week, 8 new releases are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner which will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year at the end of each quarter of the year, and then again at the end of the year to determine the ultimate winner of 2025.

Last week's results;

Oklou – blade bird [ 5 ] ** [26.32%]

Alex Warren – Ordinary [ 4 ] ** [21.05%]

St. Lucia – Rolling Man [ 4 ] ** [21.05%]

Inhaler – Billy (Yeah Yeah Yeah) [ 2 ] ** [10.53%]

Squid – Cro-Magnon Man [ 2 ] ** [10.53%]

Chloe Slater – Sucker [ 1 ] ** [5.26%]

The Black Keys – The Night Before [ 1 ] ** [5.26%]

The K's – Breakdown In My Bedroom [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

Total Votes: 19

French musician Oklou has garnered quite a fanbase on BuzzJack with her unique style of electrinic and alternative music. The three-way tie with Alex Warren and St. Lucia was decided narrowly by the end of the week.

Some big favourites Lucy <3 Bon Iver <3
Hooray for Sam finally coming out with something that isn’t beige! Went for that, with Amazons 2nd and Self Esteem 3rd (yes I enjoyed “69” in a trash bop way!)

Voted for Japanese Breakfast as it's probably the best there for me, but I can't say I was that interested in any of them this week.

Personal choices this week -

Eville - Plaything

Lacuna Coil - I Wish You Were Dead

Slung - Collider

Went for The Amazons, everything from this era has been brilliant!
Not sure about the Sam one, should work as an album closer but perhaps not one I'll come back to much otherwise. Voted for Lucy, preferred it to the last couple of hers I think.

1. Bon Iver

2. Lucy
