Each week, 8 new releases are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner which will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year at the end of each quarter of the year, and then again at the end of the year to determine the ultimate winner of 2025.

Last week's results;

Fontaines D.C. – It's Amazing To Be Young [ 10 ]

Suki Waterhouse – Dream Woman [ 3 ]

Sam Fender – Little Bit Closer [ 2 ]

Disturbed – I Will Not Break [ 1 ]

Those Damn Crows – Dreaming [ 1 ]

A Day To Remember – Make It Make Sense [ 0 ]

Alien Weaponry – 1000 Friends [ 0 ]

Mumford & Sons – Malibu [ 0 ]

==========

Total Votes: 17

With a huge lead over the rest of the options last week, Fontaines D.C. return with new music that follows the success of Starburster, In The Modern World, Favourite and Bug.

I had to cut so much this week, it was an impossible task to fit the highlights in, especially with the genre mods making recommendations or requests!

Sorry to the likes of Architects, Viagra Boys, Sports Team, Throwing Muses, Deacon Blue, Prima Queen, girl in red and The Lathams for these cuts!

Damiano David and Michael Marcagi will appear in the Pop poll this week!

Dumping rankings from last 3 polls (as in the Pop one I did vote in last week's but just didn't post)

Week 6:

1 Squid

2 Chloe Slater

3 Oklou

4 St. Lucia

5 The K's

6 The Black Keys

7 Inhaler

8 Alex Warren

Week 7:

1 Bon Iver

2 The Amazons

3 Lucy Dacus

4 Sam Fender

5 Japanese Breakfast

6 Daniel Caesar

7 The Lottery Winners

8 Self Esteem

Week 8:

1 Fontaines D.C.

2 Suki Waterhouse

3 Sam Fender

4 Mumford & Sons

5 Alien Weaponry

6 A Day To Remember

7 Disturbed

8 Those Damn Crows

Playlisted my top 3, top 2 and top 4 respectively - 'blade bird' has already grown on me more so in retrospect maybe should have also been my would-be vote for week 6 but it won the poll anyway of course. Deserved landslide for Fontaines last week but the Suki song is very good too, first thing that's really clicked for me from her since 'Good Looking'. Happy that I'm a fan of at least one song from the new Sam Fender album (the one from week 7 was pretty dull, only as high as 4th there as it was a very boring list overall minus the top 2, and the bottom 2 which were pretty bad oop) and better songs here from The Amazons and Mumford & Sons than their previous poll appearances too.
